Another Writing Contest? Yeah!

You know I looooooove the writing groove here in the Tea House. And there are some very talented souls out here. I will judge their writings, but not critique them. Despite how much I want to. This contest is to see who has the best writing out of everyone!

RULES:
1) If you use improper grammar, I will DQ you without even reading the story. Once or twice, maybe three times is excusable, but certain writing... Just ugh!
2) No insulting anyone's writing, despite how bad it is. I am the sole judge here.
3) Maximum of 4,000 words.
4) Minimum of 100 words. I will not read a sentence, even if it is a beautiful haiku.
5) Put the story in a spoiler, and tell me the title and what prompt you are using.
6) Only use one prompt. One writing. Everyone should focus on one thing, it makes the writing better. And I want everyone to have an equal chance.

Here are the three prompts, or ideas, that you will base around your writing. If the story is completely unrelated, I will ask you to either explain, or redo entirely.

Prompt A: The year is 2121. The human race is almost extinct, except the few who were smart enough to leave the barren Earth on spacecrafts. But some animals thrive here. Despite all of the poison in the air and water, they survive. And these animals team up to face their harsh surroundings. You are any animal that you think would survive, and you have friends to help you in this cruel world.

Prompt B: You are a dog. Your human owner is on vacation for a month, but he locked you out. So you go out in the wild to find food. You stroll upon wild dogs, and they don't like you. But eventually, they take you in. You learn to become one of them. But you face a tough decision; which life should you choose, the fast life, or the easy life?

Prompt C: You are a scientist, and you've discovered a life form like no other. You examine it's DNA, and you're shocked to find that it relates to dinosaurs. You kill it, but keep the DNA sample. Should you make new ones, possibly terrorizing the world, or forget it ever happened? However, the dinosaur could be beneficial. A hard choice, but you must make it.

Prompt #1:

Year 2121

My name? I don’t know.

I was born into this empty shell of a world a few years back. Even back then, the world was the way it is now: an uninhabitable wasteland. The toxic air, the undrinkable water, and the dirty browned atmosphere make Earth the most unattractive place in the universe. The remainder of my species has the humans to thank for this.

What am I? I’m not so sure.

We are grotesque-looking creatures with dark scaly bodies made to protect us from the poisonous gases of this planet. We have milky white colored eyes with three eyelids, each eyelid made to help protect our eyes from the dust storms and clouds of chemicals that float across the earth. Our bodies’ shapes are similar to that of humans, but our limbs are longer and we have more claw-like fingers meant for running and scavenging. My species also have long tails that are as long as we are tall and they’re covered in skin, brownish-black scales, and ragged tufts of gray-black fur. Our heads are lizard-like and have no nostrils due to the fact there is no need for smell on this wretched place. Our mouths have no teeth, but they have tongues that are long, purple and forked, for they’re meant to snake around for any food that could be lying around, like cockroaches or some minerals if we’re lucky.

We aren’t exactly sure what we are, but we really don’t need to know. All we know is that we must survive. Due to our adaptations we are able to.

My brothers and sisters and I wander what’s left of old human cities in hunt of food. We see leftover human carcasses all the time, but we dare not disturb them, for we wish they rest in peace. Unlike them, we believe in peace. We believe in sharing. Maybe that is why we are still alive.

While some of the humans escape this blasted rotating dirt-ball, we’re forced to live on it and see what the humans have left for us. I have no idea how long I’ve been living for or how long my species has been the way they are, but one thing is for sure: This planet is still alive.

I occasionally see a patch of bright green stringy stuff growing from the humans’ decaying bodies. My siblings and I refuse to eat it, thinking that it could be poisonous to the environment like the humans themselves. Yet, somehow, I know that these strange, green things aren’t bad. They’re good. And they’re meant to save us and this wounded planet.

Well, not that we need saving. Earth does.

How does it look? I just wrote this up, so I might go back and put some more work into it or I might do a completely different prompt. I just feel like I rushed it y'know?

P.S. I couldn't think of a title.
