Jabbuck and gorgonopsid. Now with sketches!
Oh hai there
Here is one of my entries for the competition, i hope you like them!
Jabbucks
General
Jabbucks are strange, yet plentiful creatures. They are built for speed, their long legs with powerful muscles help them move at an increbile pace. Long ears help this animal cool as it sprints. Adult Jabbucks can travel at up to 150kms an hour, making them very useful to magi for carrying messages. Jabbucks are skittish creatures, and are always very wary. It takes a patient and gentle magi to befriend this creature.
Jabbuck have a strange coat, which peels off every summer, like the velvet on a deers antlers. Magi can collect this and use it for cloaks, and pouches to carry their eggs.
Egg
This egg is covered in a soft fuzz.
Hatchling
With a powerful kick from long wobbly legs, the soft egg is broken open. A small creature with huge ears and exceptionally long legs has emerged. It is playful, yet wary. You watch it as it finds its feet, then almost immediately, trots around. The creature returns to you, and you pat its amazing soft coat. It lets out a strange squeal, and canters away. It looks like you have a lot of work on your hands.
Adult
Wary and beautiful, this adult jabbuck trots proudly, looking for grass. You let out a cool whistle, and the strange long-legged animal canters towards you. Gently you tie a message around its neck, then pat its velvet coat. With a click of your tounge, the Jabbuck is off at incredible speed. It returns minutes later, barely out of breath.
I was thinking of having different versions, a desert, plains, mountain and forest.
Plains is the regular version, with the usual length of leg and ears, plains jabbuck are a light brown in colouration. Desert Jabbuck are a lighter colouration, and have even larger ears to help moderate temperature. Forest jabbuck are darker in colouration, and have slighty smaller ears and a longer neck. The Mountain Jabbuck is much shorter, with very small ears and a shaggy coat.

Crit is appreciated. I hope you like my idea!

If so, I think they're too similar. Plus the fact that there are many different cars in the world, some small like the Smart Car, or some almost big enough to be considered a van.
Your Jabbucks are cool though.

I'm glad someone likes my jabbuck.
I'll take down the Ebony and Ivory dragon, since they seem to similar. ^^

Re: Jabbuck and gorgonopsid.
I dunno about anyone else, but i think a Gorgonopsid on magistream would be awesome.
Here's some pics:
Gorgonopsid was a huge permian carnivore. They exsisted before the dinosaurs, and were prehistories answer to the wolf. The were huge, about the size of a rhino. They also had huge, almost saber like teeth. They are basically a pwnsome rhino sized scaly wolf with saber teeth. Awesome huh?
I'll have descripts up soon...anyone like the idea?

Re: Jabbuck and gorgonopsid.
They actually look more similar to the Sabertooth Tiger if you look at the second picture. The tiny nose, walks on all fours, tiny eyes, the way the teeth are looks very very similar to the way the sabertooth tiger's teeth where. Small teeth in front, two large saber fangs and semi-larger teeth in the back.
