"End the Evening"

Softly, shifting, drifting,
Gleaming against the shadow of night
Snowflakes skimming on air currents
Frost gliding over windowpanes
Half melted, the warmth inside radiating.
Can you hear it?
The soft susurrus of music
The quiet joy and peace
The prayers of solemn joy
Can you smell it?
Cookies, freshly baked,
All prepared for the red-clad man
Who shall bound down the chimney tonight.
So, can you feel it?
The tension
The quiet excitement and the long wait
The shadows fading away
As candlelight illuminates the path.
And can you see it?
The noble tree, proud,
Bells and ornaments sparkling
Branches spread wide in welcome
Brilliantly wrapped presents resting at the bottom
Anticipating the dawn that ends the Eve.
uh hi
this is a work in progress

I'll try another of your contests, though I suck. :italian:
Spoiler
Christmas, Christmas, time is here
It's the only time of year,
We get to dance around spreading holiday cheer,
And gift loved ones far and near

Little ones wait impatiently in their beds,
For the big man dressed in red,
Whom thanks to cookies is well fed,
And maybe sneak some treats near their heads

Santa Clause is his name,
He flies around on a sleigh,
Using power from the reindeer he trained,
The leading reindeer has a bright red nose

A hero all-around,
The quest to glimpse him lasts

And when you wake,
A surprise awaits
From the big man dressed in red

Boxes with paper folded,
No hint of any dulled

A day of fun,
For everyone,
To share this year's only one

And another day of Christmas passed,
Leaving something that it cast,
But that thing will always last,
And that thing is love
I suck at poetry, but it's my personal best so I'm kinda proud. XD

Lately I've been even more inactive than usual, but everything's hectic here and I'm so sorry. :t-boo:

Christmas Eve
Santa's sleigh was packed and ready for flight the reindeer's harnesses were put on and a slight bit tight. Santa laughed a big hearty laugh and said, " This Christmas will be a blast!" So he hopped in the sleigh and rode out of sight to go deliver the gifts to the good little tykes who believe in their heart's with all of their might that Santa is real and he'll come Christmas night.

A little boy sends up his prayer and goes to sleep one night, 13
and above this house is a shining star, glowing ever bright. 11

This little boy wakes up and soon begins to cry, 10
and then he starts another prayer and begins with "Hi" 10

He says" Dear Lord, please tell my mother that I love her so, 13
I tell her this because I want her to forever know" 11

And this Christmas Eve ends with the star winking goodnight 10

Hi, this is just a little poem, and I know the ending dosen't rhyme, sorry. Oh, theres 78 words total
