okay, so this is about the first poetry i've ever writtin, but i really just want to try even though i stand no chance as i'm not that old....

chilly days
when frost bites

One girl is in a woolen blanket
while one sits numb

Tired from a day of chores
ready to sleep on a wooden bed

She listens to her master yammer
then hears her ask to go

The girl says she did not hear
but her master says otherwise

he throws her into the snow
into the chilly night

She could not sleep
curled up and wet

When she sees a flash of light
and a path seems to be lit

She knew what it was
on that december day

A path
a path to freedom

a wish
a long desired wish

okay, so i didnt base it on so much as modernday christmas, more where there were slaves and christmas was about granting dreams to the deserving. (3 i really want to win this, as everyone else does. But... Yeah. Congrats to who ever wins (3

I would just like to point out that I am NOT picking favorites! The compliments are just for something I noticed, it does not mean there poem is better than your entry.
I have done this 3 times, and I've been a fair judge each time! Every entry is awesome and the marking, The marking is just a score for a certain categorie and also means nothing. Please, I did not mean to make any of you feel bad!

Sleep on the wings of a dream
Let an Angles wings guide you.
The Gifts have been opened
Joy is every where in the air.
Snow sparkles like diamonds in the light of the moon
as the wings of a dream guide you to rest.
All the Christmas carols have been sung
and the dinner is done.
Christmas time is a time for giving and a time
to be with family.
But when all is said and done,
let the wings of a Christmas dream
take you away.
When Christmas day is done
Only one thing is clear
and that is the wings of a dream will appear.

The First Christmas

Silent night with angels singing
Above the mountains tall.
While wise and merry gentlemen
Rest weary heads upon
Whispering wings of peaceful sleep
A shepherd tends his flock.
A softening glow shines steady
From that silent guiding star,
And a virgin mother waits to see
Into her baby’s eyes.

Her precious newborn boy looks up,
Eyes shining with heavenly love.
She knows in her heart, and treasures
This child is Lord of Heaven above.
A soft sweet song rings over the night,
A beauteous lullaby.
Angels singing their praises to
The God of earth and sky.
