Rangapaw's Imaginarium: Completed!! Please criticize
My bestial inventions:
The Huwayoo
Egg:
This almost transparent egg seems to be made of mist. You are surprised your hands don't go through it.
Hatchling:
You watch in amazement as the misty egg suddenly swirls and vanishes, leaving behind a strange creature that seems to be made of the same material as the egg. From certain angles, all you can see is it's outline. It plays well enough with the other hatchlings, but somehow seems to be wiser and more mature than they are.
It's most striking feature is the single eye on it's forehead, and the mist that seems to cling to it wherever it goes. You are pretty sure you have seen it vanish into thin air sometimes. It also takes no food or drink, nor does it seem to need any. Despite it's rather eerie appearance, it seems friendly enough, often running up to you and nuzzling it's face against yours. Sometimes, however, you get the urge to look deep into it's large eye, and as if it senses this, it pulls away from you, bounds off, and apparently disappears into the ether.
Adult:
The eerie, yet friendly hatchling has grown into a regal, graceful and gentle creature. It seems to be formed out of thick air or mist, and while it has no trouble being solid, it can also scatter it's form to the winds, easily going through any object in front of it. You find that it can transport you from one place to another in the same way while you hold on to it. you don't want to think of what would happen if you let go.
The Huwayoo also seems to dislike any kind of violence, and if a quarrel takes place in front of it, it will leave, showing every sign of disdain. Sometimes you get the feeling that it knows far more than it is letting on, especially when it watches it's surroundings with that peculiarly thoughtful expression. But when you look up to meet it's eye, it simply looks away or blinks lazily and goes off to sleep.
General Description:
The Huwayoo are mysterious creatures. Dwelling in the ether, it is very difficult to find and catch their eggs. Know one knows exactly what they are made up off, or how they survive without eating. They may be able to take in nourishment from the light, but no one is very sure.
Legends say that Huwayoo can sight the past and the future through their single, brilliant eye. It is known that if anyone looks into the eye for too long, what they see can completely unhinge their mind. The few Magi who dared have been babbling about happy squirrels, teacakes, and flying saucers. It is feared that they have discovered the ultimate truth of the Universe. The Huwayoo is certainly very wise. It goes out of it's way to avoid violence or aggression, and is the only creature that has never been known to show any. If it finds itself in a threatening situation, it vanishes, or if it is accompanied by a Magi, it simply takes the Magi with it and vanishes.
More coming up soon, along with colored pictures.

I'll be the first to admit that these images suck, but I hope it gives you guys a basic idea of what the Huwayoo is supposed to look like. It's very difficult to scan something transparent...

How so?
The Huwayoo is a sort of airy sound, which is basically what the creature is made up of. Can you tell me your suggestions, please? ^^

Wow, that sounds so good, you have great writing skills It definately sounds like the kind of creature I'd spend all my gold on buying or a year trying to catch. =P
I personally like the name. It sounds mysterious and interesting. ^^
Again, good job!

Re: Rangapaw's Imaginarium of Oddities
You did it! *grins*
I love the description. It stands out, and I'm waiting to see pictures. They might be a good idea, as far as giving the artists a sense of what the Huwayoo looks like. Other than having one huge eye...does it appear
four-legged? More or less? Body shape? *shuts up, waiting for illustration*

My illustrations aren't very good. All I have is a blank (not anymore) notepad, pencil, black microtip and color pencils. Also a broken scanner.
It's rather dainty looking. And kinda cute.
