Okay, excited to read it!

I was browsing through the poems-which are really good- and I noticed that there are a couple that shouldn't be counted in the 'entered' list because their poems are longer than 150 words (they're actually over 200) and it wouldn't be fair to those who followed the '150 word max ' rule.

I'd say who so they know to fix them, but I don't know if I'm allowed.

My Christmas Wish

I awoke that morning, heart alight.
in my sleep, reindeer took flight.
A grin on my face and my hair wild,
sitting up in bed I then smiled.

Scampering down the stairs with ease,
I hoped St. Nick had given me what I'd pleased.
As I rounded the corner at full flight,
I found an unsettling sight.

No presents were found under the tree,
My stocking was empty as can be.
But as I dug further, a note was found,
"I know what you want child: a hound."

I looked at the note, and looked some more,
but I couldn't discover what it was for.
I sat on the couch, a dent made it's mark.
All of the sudden, I heard a bark.

The old man'd come through!
I cried out "Yahoo!"
My puppy's tail wagged at a mile a minute,
And I couldn't believe, I finally did get it.

(Yeah!! After much editing, I finally came up with exactly 150 words.)

Christmas,
The overly commercialized time of year
When you have to spend to make others happy
Buy this!
Buy that!
Buy everything you can until you have nothing left!
We are inundated with advertisements
To ask for useless, expensive things.
To buy useless, expensive things.
A disgusting time of year.

There is School Christmas
Where children participate in
Many Holiday Events
But it can be so alienating.
For those who are Jewish
Or Muslim
Or Hindi
Or any other religion
You don't put up a Christmas tree or wait for Santa
Christmas is not a holiday-
It's just another day.
A lonely time of year.

Then there is Christmas, the most wonderful time of the year.
When people put aside their own selfish needs to think about others.
When people go out of their way to help a stranger.
When those who have more give to those who have less.
When people are thankful for all they have
And look ahead to the coming year.
It's my favorite time of year.
