Soo...I was just wondering if people would like a French club. I intend this for both people who have spoken French all their lives and for people who have learned or are learning French.

Je peux repondre? Je crois que je peux, donc....Bonjour! Je suis des Etats-Unis, mais j'apprends le francais a l'ecole. L'annee prochaine, j'irai avec ma classe a France pour la premiere fois. Je sais que je ne parle pas parfaitement, mais j'essaie.

Can I answer? I think I can, so...Hello! I am from the United States, but I'm learning French at school. Next year, I'm going with my class to France for the first time. I know I don't speak perfectly, but I'm trying.

At least, that's what I hope I said. Anyway, I'd like to join! I love French and I'm in the school French Club, but I fear the French program at our school system is in dire straights. They've stopped teaching it at the middle schools (our 8th grade class was the last to be able to take French class at my middle school), and fewer people than ever are taking high-school French at our (admittedly small) school. My French III class (which is the only French III class in the school this year) has exactly three people in it - me, my twin sister, and one other girl. There are only a few more people in the French II class, and this year there was no French IV. We have one very nice teacher to cover all four levels. By contrast, there are five Spanish teachers, and each class is full to bursting, from I to IV. Even our French teacher has to teach Spanish to cover the huge influx of Spanish I students. I mean, Spanish is a great language and all, but French needs a bit of love too!

Yeah, my friends are mostly taking Spanish, and I'm like WTF?! French is good too! However, we have a huge school, so we have two classes of thirtyish second year French kids.
