Hatchling- The egg cracks, and a blind head pokes its way out. The hatchling that slithers out has two dark, soft, spine-edged leaves folded along its back, and its head resembles a huge venus flytrap. A second flytrap tips its tail, and its tiny legs are tipped in roots. It sits with both mouths open, and if a bug lands in one, attracted by a sweet scent the hatchling gives off, the mouth snaps shut. It likes to dip its root-feet in water, and it also likes to sit on your head with its leaves spread. It's rather lightweight.
Adult- Your creature is now the size of a cat, but it's still light enough that with its vinelike tail wrapped loosely around your neck, it can sit on your head and soak up the light without troubling you. Its traplike mouths on its head and tail smell incredibly sweet, and the saliva it produces between meals makes a nice perfume, though it attracts hundreds of bugs. The huge leaves on its back can be spread to provide shade for you when it's on your head, and it lives on eating bugs and dipping its rootlike feet into water.
General- Snapdragons are strange creatures. They were accidentally created by a clumsy magi who spilled a potion onto his prized venus flytraps, and are somewhere between animal and plant. They lure and eat insects with their sweet smell, and their saliva makes a nice perfume in bug-free climates. They are emotionless, though they will bond with the person who raises them and follow their orders over all others.
