I joined on New Years 2011, but I found the site in 2009. I look back now and go 'damn I wish I would have joined back then' a lot.

I found the site in 2008, and adopted this cat without joining. I kick myself a lot about that. I didn't join until February 18 of this year.

I know there's a long list of pets belonging to another person named Nyx, but that isn't me. I only got this warrior cat back then. I guess there are no name restrictions when you're not actually joining. I have him in my CS sig now, so he's sort of, kind of, a bit, part of my account.

How do you adopt a pet without joining?

56 Rares from the free section, so yeah, I have good luck/mooch too much. xD;;
I added up all of my creatures, but I didn't expect the number to be that high o_O; I joined in 2012, but I probably have more pets than maybe some of the mid to late 2011 users.

Someone, who I was on a Dragon Cave community with at LiveJournal, adopted one of the dogs and showed it in his post. I took a look at the site, decided to test it by adopting the cat. As far as I recall there was a choice between an "adopt now" button and a "sign up" button. But this is 3½ years ago, and my memory is sucky, so I'm not sure, I just remember it was easy. I got to name him and everything.

The cats back then were born adults, and I didn't much care for the sprite, so I lost interest pretty quickly and forgot about it again. Too bad, 'cause that cat is now a rare. I checked, it's not possible to have him added to my account.

I was just going back though the archive and adding things to my wish-list and it suddenly hit me. The 2011 Halloween horses are based on the 4 Horsemen of the Apocalypse! (I feel so slow now)

Uh, it could have been auto cancelled if one of the creatures was taken by someone else. Took me 3 tries to get a trade to go through with one person because it kept getting cancelled because someone else had requested at least one of the creatures I had.

In the long run it's unfair to them, since the cookie dog was only available for a day. Right now there's not much difference between either but in that distance future when '11 pets start going rare, the cookie dog will go first.

I dunno, at this point it's pretty much which one you prefer, because neither are really in demand and it'll be a long time before their differences in value are noticeable.
