A whole bunch of my freebie trades have been cancelled too...
I can't exactly pout about that because they were free anyway, but I was pretty bummed.
None of them were deleted with a message saying why from the owner either, but they just kinda got killed.

Check the trades. If it says it was "auto-cancelled", then it was NOT the owner cancelling the trade.

Then it was simply because one or more of the pets you had requested, had also been requested by someone else. Only, this other person asked first.

Spelling it out - person A asks for pet X at 2 pm. You ask for the same pet at 2.05 pm. Giveaway person starts okaying trades at 2.30pm. Result = pet X goes to person A, and your trade is automatically cancelled since the pet is no longer in giveaway person's posession.

What YOU should do then - send a new trade for another pet. If you had asked for two pets, and only one is now with another person - you can see that by clicking the pets in the cancelled trade - then ask for the other pets you wanted that are still in Giveaway person's posession.

Sucks when you can't trade with someone because you have 2012 pets on their wishlist and they 2011 pets on your wishlist.
I mean..I sent 3 or 4 uncommons, or what?

Not really, they had to double the amount you could adopt after fixing it to prevent other people from whining that some people got two sets. It was the fairest thing to do but there's SO many of them around. xDD;

Oh... dang, I didn't get adopt two. I remember trying but it didn't allow me to... o-o Whatever, it's not like a huge loss or anything xD

And yeah, I've seen people ranting about it on the Trade Rant Thread. It's a really cruel thing to do :/ It's painful to cancel the trade when you want the pet so badly but you know you can't afford it. :[

I mean, I'll gladly take it for free, or chuck some of my extras at them if they don't want the creature.

Unfortunately, this may be a case where a user just wants to wave a pet in your face. It sounds terrible but people do it... they know you can't afford it and that you really want it, so they stick it in a suggestion and flaunt it. I don't know if that's what this user is doing, but it's quite possible.

Not the main list, only the advent list, but it's still very valuable since it's from '08. There are very few non-'08 pets that are on the rares list.

Well, that sucks.
Also, some of the pets there aren't even listed in the archives, like the Slepnir(apparently released at the same time as the HollyFox Dog).

I have quite a few pets on their wishlist, but nothing that'd make up for an '008 advent. Honestly, all of their wishlist pets to my knowledge are either on the Rares list or are in high demand. The thing I find funny is this thing first in their rules-

PM them. If they're trying to be a jerk, just edit the trade to something fair like a newborn for a newborn or something. There's not really much you can do unless you want to report them for it.

It just means that the brown sleipnir has the same value as an '08 advent. The rares list isn't based on dates (date affects the rarity, though, so there's a large correlation--older pets tend to be higher up. Demand comes into play here as well, however). Pets that are in italics means that those pets aren't from that category (ex. Brown sleipnir is not an advent), but they have the same worth.

I don't think that there's much you can do about reporting, though :/ That person could easily claim that they thought you had something they wanted and were looking for a legitimate trade, blah blah blah. Too many possible excuses for them, I think.
