I like the blue and the green shop dog, the purple and pink - not so much, don't like their textures. But stuff on CS isn't that expensive, when you compare the C$/real money ratio, and I could maybe use the purple and pink to bribe people for some rares in the future. :B

I think not, because those items are pretty much one set per user, and I don't like the common cat, am indifferent towards the b&w one.
Of course, if you like them and don't care about items, then it's different.

How often do the shop dogs rotate?

Once every two months, the dogs appeared in February, so they'll be out on the Sunday of next week.
And they aren't necessarily dogs, before that there were carousel horses.
