Thanks! I think adapting a RP could be really interesting.

Only about an hour for me now, although I won't be starting until tomorrow afternoon. Feeling pretty excited!

Well, I have been typing since 12:30, this morning and was able to type 1,175. I would love to type more, but quite frankly I can't think of anymore and it's taking me too long to correct my spelling errors (they are getting so bad, I don't even know what I was trying to say).

With that I bid thee all good night. For those either still writing or who are starting Thursday afternoon, good luck.

That's what you get for writing about gods?

Give them some foibles. I think that's what makes the Greek Myths so fun, the gods have very distinctly human personalities- like certain characteristics to a fault. Writing about gods can work.

I made it up to 1478 before midnight, and got 1697 before sleeps. I am officially on track!

My dear friend (practically sister) from Canada remembered that I had emailed her everything I had on one of my stories. I hadn't done much of anything to it, and nothing important to it, since sending it to her. She was able to email it back to me! WOO! So I got my most recent story, Becoming Dragon, complete with all notes and previous writings back. It is now saved in 5 different places places, including two that are online.
Then, I remembered that since I moved, I have my file cabinet out of storage. And in that file cabinet are folders of stories and such that I haven't touched in years. And in one of those folders is almost everything I had on Kestryle- hand written story as well as a printed version of the story's start! An advantage to having not touched it since the late 90s? The only things missing are a few random notes and some spelling corrections- WOO! This is the one I started wording on late last night.
So, I'm still missing a TON of random notes and story ideas and dreams that I have typed up over the years. I'm still missing 22 years worth of my original novel edits and rewrites and overhaul, but hopefully those will still be recoverable from the hard drive later on.
At least I have these little bits to work with. I was SO frazzled yesterday because of it all, but getting Becoming Dragon back made me feel SO much better, and it was right after that, that I remembered Kestryle had been printed, and I checked the cabinet to see if I still had it.
BOOYAH!

How's everyone else doing on Day 2?

Haven't started working on Day 2 stuff.

Euuugh I'd explain why that doesn't work so well but it'd just sound like excuses so I'll just shut up and only complain about word counts and stuff from now on :derp:

How many years have you participated in NaNoWriMo? 2010 and 2011

Hi guys! I'm participating in NaNo again, so here I am, I guess.
My goals tend to be a bit unconventional, seeing as I have never actually started a project in November and written 50,000 words just during that month. Instead, I used NaNo as a motivation to write 50,000 additional words for a book I had already spent 4 years writing, then to write 50,000 words total while working on multiple projects. My goal this year is simply to finish a book I'm writing. I'm about halfway through, but it took me a year just to write that much, so I'm taking this month to just focus on the one story so I can finish it. I'm really not even sure where the plot is going from here, either, but I had better figure it out fast.

That's great to hear, Hawke! And welcome, sorakaji.

I've been on a determination streak since waking up yesterday. I currently have 5k written, and my goal today is to just...write whatever. Don't really have one since I hit my goal for today yesterday. Just try to get as far ahead as possible, I guess, before the usual procrastination sets in.

That's pretty much how most of my years have gone. Just write and add on to an old story.

I'm still up to quota for day two- WOO! Not much ahead, only 20 words or so, but I had them done well before midnight, so I'm feeling pretty proud of myself.

Now... if only I knew what I was doing...

I need suggestions though.

Why is my Amazon chick wandering around alone through non-Amazon lands?
Previously considered and rejected:
She just wants to
Framed/ actual criminal and can't go back
home village was burned to the ground and nothing to go home to.
Not accepting home customs and had to get away

I'm toying with the idea that she's literally just out being a mercenary and looking for work, saving up money, but why is she doing it in this foreign land instead of in the Amazon kingdom?

Or, if it's a kind of rite of passage thing... what custom is it that? How does it fit into the scheme of things?

And why has she continued to wander the land for the past 8 years or so?
