"Now you're just making me blush on purpose and as for names for the pups how about Samantha for a girl and Sedrick for a boy?" Tami said and asked in reply to everything that Kieran said and asked before getting into the water but staying close to the rock and not going too far just yet.

Kieran repeated the names "Samantha and Sedrick... I like them." he nodded his head in approval and watched Tami slip into the water. He watched her for a moment, then raised his eyes as a movement caught his eye further up. There was nothing there, but the water near the beach rippled like a fish had just come up and stolen a bug from the surface. The ripples were so large, it must have been a very big fish, but Kieran did not think any more about it... until he saw two small logs moving toward Tami....logs with glinting eyes. He realized what the logs were only a scant moment too late...

"Good I'm glad," Tami said in reply with a smile before swimming around the shallows and not noticing the log-like creatures coming towards her or that Kieran had his attention be on them. As soon as she got to be a little further away from the rock and after she had turned to wait for her mate to join her in the water if he wanted to, one of the log-like creatures that was actually a hungry alligator came at her from the side when she wasn't looking and started to pull her down by her leg after having taken her by surprise since she had no idea that alligators occupied the lake while the other one followed.
"Kieran!!!" she yelled before she was pulled under the water.
As she went under, she tried to free herself from the alligator but it only held on that much tighter which made it harder to get away unless she wanted to lose the rest of her leg. As it took her deeper under the water, she started to go unconscious since she was losing a lot of air.

Kieran dove into the water before Tami cried out, heading straight for one of the alligators. He pulled out his bone knife en-route, and then he wrapped his arm around the thick neck of the gator before it had time to snap it's dreadful jaws around Tami's arm. He stabbed his knife into it several times until it went limp and started floating on the water. He looked around desperately for Tami, but couldn't find her. His wide eyes landed on some bubbles floating up to the surface from underwater, and he guessed that she was there. He dove into the water and began to follow the stream of bubbles, knowing he didn't have much time. After a moment, he spotted two murky shadows: the gator holding firmly onto Tami's leg at the bottom of the lake. With knife at the ready, he kept swimming downward, his own lungs screaming at him for air and his ears pulsing under the pressure. The gator tried to move away as he saw Kieran approaching, but Tami was still much bigger than him and not easy to drag away.
Kieran grabbed the beast by the tail and stabbed his knife into it's hip. The gator released Tami, letting her float up to the surface, and turned around to snap at Kieran. Kieran barely avoided the scissor bite, but he used his embedded knife to pull himself up further onto the gator. He held it between his legs as it tried to swim away, and he stabbed his knife into it's neck, puncturing it's jugular.
Knowing that the creature was mortally wounded, Kieran began to swim upward. His lungs finally came to their limit, and in desperation they took in water. Kieran thought he would never reach the surface, and when he finally did, he could barely breathe because of the water in his lungs. Still, that was not his primary concern.
"Taaammi!" he coughed, looking around. He finally spotted her body floating nearby, and he swam for her. He wrapped his strong arms around her and began to tow her to shore "Come on Tami. Say something to me..." he pulled her up onto dry ground and checked to see if she was breathing...

Tami started to feel a bit unconscious and her eyes were starting to close as Kieran came at the alligator holding her down at the bottom of the lake. As soon as he made the gator let go of her leg and she had floated up to the surface, she tried to make her way to the shore but found that she didn't have enough energy in her arms in order to do so, so she just stayed where she was until her mate came over and started to pull her to where she had wanted to go earlier.
"My hero and I don't think I'll be swimming again anytime soon," she said after she coughed up the water that had been in her lungs after she had been pulled down by the alligator. She then sat up on the ground to get more comfortable and in a better position to cough up the rest of the water that might still be in her lungs and did so. Her throat was a bit sore after coughing the rest of the water but she thought that she could wait to get something to drink later when they were back in camp.

Kieran let out a sigh of relief when Tami spoke to him "Me either..." he agreed on the swimming. He started coughing until warm water ran up his throat and through his nose. It stung, but at least he knew he was getting it out of his lungs.
"We need to get back to the village...and get you taken care of." he pulled his shirt off and tied it snuggly around her bleeding leg before scooping her up into his arms. He was out of breath from swimming and coughing, but she was in no condition to walk and he had to get her back to the village ASAP.
He walked slowly as he carried her, because the evening shadows were long and playing tricks with his bleary eyes, and because his muscles were somewhat fatigued from the lack of oxygen.

Tami rested her head on Kieran's shoulder after he had tied his shirt around her leg and had scooped her up into his arms. As he walked slowly back to the village, she stayed quiet and focused on their surroundings in case she needed to point out an obstacle or something else. She could tell that he was having a hard time with seeing things clearly so she wanted to be prepared just in case.
"I heard a nearby bush rustle and I smell raw meat," she said softly to him a few minutes later. "It sounded like a person and not an animal and it or they could be the reason behind why the alligator dragged me down because it was hungry."
This last statement that she said was an explantion of the statement that she had said before it in case he asked what she thought the rustle she heard was.

Kieran frowned when Tami explained what she heard and smelled "I smelled the raw meat too. I ignored it... and I shouldn't have." if he would have investigated the first time he smelled it, instead of riding it off, Tami wouldn't have gotten hurt. He should have been paying attention.
He turned onto the path that led back to the village, which made it easier to walk "It was probably a bunch of boys goofing off." he commented after a moment of thought "Aiden and I would have done something stupid like that when we were younger, so I wouldn't put it past other youngsters."
