Bloody Hell (Nuzlocke story)

Post by Faleep »

Ok, I think the title explains itself. I ran a Randomized Leafgreen Nuzlocke. I streamed only about half of it, but I'm not gonna post the stream. Mostly cause I cheated a few times. (Shhhhhhh)
Anyways, I decided to do a story on it. Was gonna do a comic... But ehhhhhh, comic too hard. Anyways, the name of the run is called Bloody Hell, and it will become VERY apparent as to why it's named that later.
Anyways, I should out a death and sadness warning on this story. Lots of death, lots of sadness. The beginning of the story is in the first spoiler, and the second will be the ref sheet to the characters (which will be updated as the story goes on, except for some near the very end as I have yet to draw them.)

My rules were simple:
*Catch one pokemon per route, if I get a repeat I'm allowed to try again. - I "cheat" on this two times. The first time I didn't realize that Route two continues through Virdian forest... But, I don't think it mattered much in the end, the illegal catch actually saved me, I would of had to start all over if not for that one. And the second time I forgot that the rules includes all pokemon, even ones fished up. XD
*Pokemon that fair are dead (I cheat on this one occasionally, though it never makes it into the story. Except for one time, near the very end.)
*Legendaries are a yes
*All mons Must be named.

Kiki sat upon the red mailbox that was posted just outside of the Pokemon laboratory, her eyes were glazed over, her small Bagon hands idly fiddled with the other, and she was not focusing on any particular thing for her mind was not in the present. No, her mind had taken her back to her past, and how she messed up not just her life, but the whole freaking pokemon world as well.

Kiki was born on an island, far out in the sea. An island that nobody knew about for good reason as well. Her father, the Green Salamance and the leader of all the Salamance families on the island protected an ancient machine, one that if it fell into evil hands it would cause mass chaos and eventually, the end of the world itself.

Kiki was the only female in her family, other than her mother. Her father had looked down upon her in shame, for he believed that we on were only good for reproducing. All through her early childhood, she strove to prove her father wrong, every opportunity she got to prove her father wrong, she took no matter how hard the challenge was. But no matter how many times she tried, one of her bigger brothers always came in at the last second and took all the glory.

Finally, after five years of trying to prove herself, and failing, she finally snapped. She set off into the jungle one night, determined to find the machine that her father guarded. She had convinced herself that it was only by activating the machine could she prove her worth to her father. After a week of trekking through the jungle, she had found the machine. Half of it was buried in the dirt, and it was covered in mosses and lichens. A single, bright red button stood out against the tarnished silver color of the machine and the green and blue of the mosses and lichens.

She had walked right up to the machine, but as she was about to press the button, she hesitated. She was having doubts, she had heard the claims of what the machine could do... But, just as she was about to turn away, her father and a smaller blue Salamance walked into the clearing that she and the machine were in. They were obviously angry at her, for it was their task to guard and protect the machine. Kiki, she was all willing to go with them, to forget all about her little one week adventure... But the words her father spoke to her hardened her decision. The last words her father spoke to her were, "Come here, Kiki. Come here, and forget all about this adventure that you could never have completed in the first place, for you are a girl."

She snapped. Her left paw, the paw that was closest to the button, came crashing down onto the button, slamming it down, not just once but several times. The machine rumbled to life, first a soft, slow grumble as though it did not want to awake, but slowly the rumble grew into a purr, then a growl, then a roar. When the machine let out a high pitched scream, a light glowed from the center. Faster then Kiki, or any body could blink, that light engulfed the island. The light grew out from there.

As the light moved across the ocean, and onto land, the wild pokemon noticed the light. By the cliff side of a water fall near the sea, an adult male Poliwrath shielded his family from the oncoming light. Deeper inland, a mother Dragonair held her daughter and whispered reassuring words as the light engulfed them. In a jungle, a Victreebell hung from his tree and clung to his food as he watched the light devour the forest. On the opposite side of the world, a mother Spinda, holding the hand of her daughter, ran to stay a head of the light. When her daughter tripped on a rock, the mother stopped for a second, turning around to possibly try and save her child. But it was too late, the light was upon them, engulfing them both in it's cold, blinding jaws. All across the world, pokemon were engulfed by the light, and quickly, with in the matter of hours, the light engulfed the world.

Then it was gone. In the blink of an eye, the light disappeared. Pokemon woke up, finding themselves in completely different places, their memories erased. Torchics woke up in a pond, Kingdra's woke up on land, all the pokemon were in different places then where they should have been, and they all beloved that they had lived in that location for a very long time since they had no memories of living any where else. Even trainer's pokemon were switched around, and the trainer's memories erased, so that they too beloved that the pokemon the owned, they had owned since the beginning. Only a few people had enough mental power to keep their memories, the Professor, and his grandson, the members of the elite four and the Champion.

But, most startling of all, Kiki's island was gone. And none of the pokemon living on it had been relocated.... Except one.

Kiki woke up staring up at a blue sky. At first, she felt nothing, then she felt the wind. On her back, but yet she was facing - oh, wait.... She was falling! Kiki's gaze swung forwards as she head, which was heavier then the rest of her body, slowly aligned itself perpendicular to the ground. Kiki glanced once, and when she realized just how far above the ground she was, she closed her eyes and pulled her body inwards, forming a small ball. Her hard head crest pointed towards the ground as she waited for the moment of impact.

Kiki hit the earth like a small meteor. Bits of rock and dust and grass and who knows what flew up into the air around her, raining down mere feet away, just outside of the small but deep crater she had created with her head. She staid curled up in a ball though, unsure of where she was. From the air, the land looked much different. It was an open field, dotted with only a few trees here and there. Off to the east, north and south a deep forest surrounded the field, but off to the west sat a small, humble village.

In the village, there was a laboratory dedicated to studying pokemon. Inside, a man sat, his features hardened by old age and a tough job. His hair was bleached nearly blond from constantly being in the sun, and mixed in with his sun bleached hair were various strands of white. He was a short, almost square man, wearing a long professor's coat and brown pants with darker brown shoes. His clothing showed obvious signs of his tough job, the the cuffs of his pants and coat were frayed, his shoes were worn and scuffed, his pants were worn down to the point where several holes had emerged and grew.

The old man was called by many different names, but most of the villagers simply called him Oak. From his desk, he had noted a peculiar thing, just mere minuets ago a bright light had engulfed the town, and now many of the pokemon, even those he kept in his lab for study purposes, had been mysteriously abducted and switched with a different species. Oak got up from his chair, turning around in time to see, from the window behind his chair, an object fall from the sky and create a crater just outside of the town.

Oak promptly got into action. He grabbed from his book shelf, which was on the right side of the desk in his office, a specific book. The book was old and dusty, as though it had not been touched in a long, long time. And indeed, the book had not been touched by anything other than dust in a very long time, not since Oak himself was just a young child. The last time Oak had seen this book being handled, it was by his own grandfather, after a light very much like the one a few minuets ago had swept by, followed soon after by an object falling from the sky.

Oak, with the book in his hand, strode out of his office, and past all of the scientists who worked under him. He noted that none of the seem phased by the sudden change of pokemon, almost as though their own memories had been wiped. The pokemon too, seemed to act as though they had always lived in the lab, even though Oak knew they had not.

Once outside, Oak moved at an even quicker pace, opening up the book and blowing the dust off of the pages as he read while he speed walked. It did not take him long to reach the crater, but by the time he had gotten there, he had already gotten the simplified knowledge of what had happened. Oak peered down into the crater, looking for anything alive. His eyes quickly fell upon a young look Bagon, it's head buried into the soil. He slid down the side of the crater, holding the book above his head with one hand and using the other to stabilize himself.

As he reached the bottom of the crater he noted two things. The first was that the Bagon was unharmed, which was a relief, the other was that the Pokemon was asleep. Not out cold, but merely Asleep. Oak shook his head, as he knelt down to pick up the pokemon. He noted that the Bagon was smaller then others he had seen, which would be good when it came to getting out of the crater. He cradled the Bagon against his chest, along with the book, and using only one hand and his legs, he climbed out of the crater. It was a tough climb, but he was used to tougher.

Oak quickly made it back to his lab, where he quickly went into his room, not stopping to talk to any of the other scientists. He set the book and the Bagon down on his desk, and went over to the closet, which was positioned opposite of the book case, and pulled out a small air mattress. He had used the mattress many times before, occasionally for himself when he crashed at the office, but mostly it had been used by his grandson when the kid had crashed in Oak's office later at night. Now a days it was seldom used though, Gary had grown into a teen and often spends nights out in the forest with his pokemon. Oak wondered if Gary would be like the others, memories lost... Oak also wondered what become of Gary's beloved Charmander, if it had been switched with a different pokemon.

Oak shook his head to clear his thoughts, and he picked up the Bagon. He set the Pokemon down gently on the bed, which was much too large for such a tiny thing, and pulled frayed, worn out gray sheets over the pokemon. Oak sat back down in his chair with a sigh, and picked up the book, opening it back up to where he had left off. He already knew, with out even reading further, that things were about to get bloody. Very bloody, and a very, very sad time was about to befall them all.

~Prolog page 3~

Kiki awoke, coming to her senses slowly as she realized that she was not in the place she expected to be. She expected to feel dirt around her head, and the wind around her posterior. Instead, she was covered by something, and her head was resting on something soft. Kiki's eyes fluttered open, and she blinked a couple of times to get her eyes used to the light. It was dimmer in this place then it was outside.

Kiki pushed herself into a sitting position, looking around the room. It was empty, not a soul in sight. Kiki surveyed the room, it was not an overly ornate room, but it was not an overly dull room either. In the center of the room sat a large desk made out of what appeared to be mahogany. On the right side of the desk was a book shelf that was full of book, many of the rows and books covered in a layer of dust. On the opposite side of the desk, was a pair of closet doors, which at this point in time was closed. Behind the desk was a large window, that started at the same level as the top of the desk, and went to just a foot below the ceiling. Just beyond the foot of her bed was a door, which Kiki guessed led into the rest of the building.

Kiki slid out of the bed, moving over to the window. She looked outside, noting that the building sat atop a hill, overlook a small village and field. Beyond the field was a dense forest. Kiki saw the small crater that she had created when she had smashed into the ground. She looked back towards the city, and saw a teenage looking boy with light brown hair trudging up the hill, a stern yet worried look etched into his face.

Kiki turned around suddenly when the door opened. Through the door stepped an older looking man. The man glanced at the bed in the corner, noting it was empty. His gaze quickly traveled around the room, resting on Kiki when he spotted her, "Oh, I see you are awake. Here I thought it would be a couple more hours, seeing as how deep that crater is." The man said, his voice full of concern. "Anyways, since your awake let me introduce myself. I am professor Oak, one of the pokemon professors of this world. May I ask for your name?"

"Kiki."

"Ah, well Kiki, I must inform you that your actions...." Oak paused for a second, "What you have done, it is a very grievous thing. You, my lass, you have doomed us all. That machine you messed with, it is an ancient weapon that was created to end a terrible war. But, the weapon had unintended consequences, for it mixed up all the pokemon, you could call it randomizing them. And if left in this randomized state too long... Even our very world shall cease to exist."

Kiki gulped, as the man looked down at her. What had she done? She had doomed them all! And all she had wanted to do was impress her father....

Oak looked down at the Bagon, as she grew afraid and very upset. Oak smirked, "But, there is a way to stop it. A counter machine, if you want to call it that. When a key is put into the machine, it will reverse the randomization, sending all the pokemon back to where they came from. I had sent in a request for the key from the people who currently own it, for there is one catch. Not just anybody can put the key in, only the one who activated the machine, or if they die during the quest, a truly trusted comrade, can put the key in."

Kiki nodded, she understood, "But, where is the counter machine?" She asked her soft voice no more than a mere whisper.

Oak shook his head, "The counter machine is currently in the hands of the current Champion. It can not be moved, so you must go to it. And the only way to do that is to prove yourself by collecting eight badges from the eight gyms that are scattered around the region. Only when you have all eight can you challenge the elite four, and if you beat them, the champion."

Kiki nodded, but she was hesitant, the road sounded harsh, "Do I have to do this alone?"

"Oh, no my dear. You can have friends join you. But, the champion has put out a new rule. It came out a few years ago, to try and cut down on some of the poaching of the rarer pokemon, but as of a few hours ago, when that light came, the Champion sent out a new notice that this rule will be more strongly Enforced."

"Ok, I get it. But what is this rule?"

"Heh, impatient. Well, the rule is that anybody who joins you on your quest, you must make a record of them, their name, their species, their gender, and what route they joined you on, along with, if it so happens, their death. You can only befriend, or 'catch' as is the proper term, one Pokemon per route. Do you understand?"

Kiki nodded her head, happy that she could make friends along the way. She did not want to do this task alone, not at all.

Oak watched Kiki, almost pleased with her. She looked strong, not just in body but in mind. She might actually have the courage to not only attempt, but complete the task set before her, "I will give you time to think, while I deal with my grandson, who has also been affected by your actions. If you decide to pursue this quest, head to Viridian city and go to the Pokemart. There will be a parcel waiting for you. Bring that parcel back to me, and I will set you up for your quest."

Kiki nodded, and walked up to the professor, slipping between his legs, pushing opening the door. As she walked out, the young man she had seen walking up the hill entered. The teen stopped, and stared at her, "You! You little nasty mongrel!" The teen yelled at her, holding out a Nidoran♂, "Do you see this?! You did this! You changed my wonderful baby Charmander into this! A purple rodent thing!" The boy yelled, throwing the Nidoran♂ at Kiki. Kiki dodge the pokemon, before turning around to see if it was ok. It was, and it was angry.

The attack that came next surprised Kiki. She took the Nidoran♂'s tackle, getting thrown back a few feet, landing on her back. She stood up, just in time to grab the Nidoran as it tackled her again. Kiki threw the Nidoran to the side, preparing for it's next attack, but it never came. The Nidoran laid on it's side, panting, not making an effort to get back up. Kiki relaxed, seeing that it was safe.

Oak watched the fight, shaking his head with a sigh at the end. His grandson stalked over to the Nidoran, picking it up roughly by it's ears.

"Gary Oak! What have I told you about mistreating pokemon? Get into my office now!" The professor called out, giving his grandson a stern look, "You should go now Kiki. The house with the red mailbox, you can stay there until you decide" Oak said, as his grandson stalked into his office. Oak sighed, and entered his office, shutting the door behind him.

Kiki stared at the door for a few seconds, before leaving the lab. It was a short walk down to the village, where she quickly found the house with the red mail box. She climbed up onto the mailbox sighing as she leaned back. She would have to make her decision soon.

After reviewing what had happened in the previous day, Kiki sighed, and closed her eyes. She knew she had to do this. She knew she had to. It was the right thing, but yet she felt as though this decision was going to be one she will regret, somewhere down the line.

Chapter 1 page 1

Kiki stood at the start of the path way, leaning against the side of the fence. A head of her stretched a path, bordered on either side by tall grass that had been dried by the sun. She could see the path went a ways before the grass eventually ate it. Kiki sighed, and shook her head, she was apprehensive about going. She lifted her right foot, and put it down on the path, just beyond the fence. She repeated with her left foot, going out farther than she had with her right. Good, one small step at a time. Just keep walking. Ignore the noises in the grass, it’s just the grass swaying in the wind. Just keep walking. One foot in front of the other.

she was so involved in ignoring everything, that she failed to notice the large shadow, and the thing that caused the large shadow until she walked right into it. Kiki fell down on her ass, her small paws immediately rubbing the place on her nose that had come in contact with the thing. She blinked her eyes, and looked up regretting the action instantly. Staring back down at her was a large pokemon, one much larger then herself. Kiki knew what the pokemon was her mother had shown her pictures of a lot of other pokemon. The thing she had ran into was a Claydol, a large, ancient, intelligent pokemon. It had a ring of eyes that went around it’s large black head, and two symbols on it’s body. They usually float above the ground using their psychic powers, but this one for some reason was standing on the ground.

The Claydol turned around, and got an almost sympathetic look on it’s face, which given it’s facial structure, didn’t look all that sympathetic. It extended one of it’s arms down to Kiki, offering to help her up. Kiki gladly took the offered arm, hauling herself up. She did not know what to do next. She didn’t want to go on, it would be rude, but at the same time she felt anxious just standing around, “So, um, sorry for bumping into you… Thank you for helping me up..” Kiki trailed off, not knowing what to say next.

"my name is Trouble." The Claydol said, out of the blue. Kiki was startled at the voice, it sounded… Young. Like a child’s. She didn’t expect that, nor the fact the Claydol was named Trouble.

"that’s an odd name, who would name their child that?" Kiki said, confused, "Well, anyways my name is Kiki. It’s nice to meet you Trouble."

If Trouble could, he would have smiled, “My parents believed I was going to bring them nothing but trouble. So that’s my name, and that’s why I’m standing out here… I’m sorry for being out here, I shouldn’t be out here.” Trouble’s voice sounded worried, almost sad.

Kiki shook her head, she felt bad for the kid. The kid had no place to go, not ever his family wanted him. She sighed, softly though, “Well, you could come with me… I’m supposed to go on this journey thing… It’s long and complicated, but I don’t have anybody with me at this current point in time… So, I guess you could join me, if you wanted.”

"Really? You’d….. You’d accept me? And take me along with you? Really and truly?" Trouble’s voice sounded excited, but at the same time worried.

"Yeah, really and truly. Come on, I’m supposed to head to the next town over to pick up a box, then I have to head back to Pallet town. You can be my first team member." Kiki said, starting off again. Trouble let out an excited "Squee" and followed behind happily.

The rest of the trip was rather uneventful, the other Claydol stayed out of their path, and the wild Hypno that the pair spotted in the path quickly ran into the tall grass, staring at Kiki and Trouble as they passed. The finally reached Viridian City as the sun was setting, staining the sky deep orange that slowly morphed into a deep purple as the first few stars pushed their way into the sky, casting their twinkling lights down upon the world below. Kiki sighed, she didn’t feel like sleeping at the Pokemon Center, which offered a free place to stay overnight. No, tonight she felt like sleeping under the stands with her new friend. So, she found a tree that was on the outskirts of the city, and climbed up it’s trunk and onto a branch. She laid down, her back against the trunk of the tree and her stubby little legs laying on the branch. Down beneath her Trouble set himself down on the ground with a small thud, and took the same position as Kiki, back against the trunk and legs out in front on the ground. In that position, together with her new friend and having a better, more confident feeling about this journal of hers, Kiki slowly slipped into the deep veil of sleep.

»»»«««

High above the sleeping pair, the god of Gods Arceus, in his human form, watched the pair sleep from his palace in space. Next to him, also in her human form, stood Ho-oh, the keeper of the Heaven Gates. Arceus sighed, and turned to Ho-oh, “This is just the beginning. Keep the gates open, for I fear the worst.” He said to Ho-oh, who just simply nodded and walked off, slowly fading into the background. Arceus turned back to the screen where Kiki and Trouble were seen sleeping, “Keep your spirits high, and do not doubt the friends you are about to make, little one. For not even I can tell how this journey of yours will end.”

Chapter 1 page 2

The next day when the sun arose, Kiki and Trouble awoke. They slowly stretched, Kiki slide down out of the tree and Trouble turned on his physic powers and began to float above the ground. Kiki stretched when she hit the ground, and walked off towards the town, Trouble following with out a word. It did not take long before they got to the Pokemart, which was just opening up for the day. The attendant looked down at Kiki, then up at Trouble, "You two must be from Oak's lab. Wait here, I'll get the package for you." She said, before she disappeared back inside the store.

The attendant came back a few moments later, a small box in her hands. She handed it to Kiki, who gladly accepted it, "there ya go. Have a nice day you to." The attendant said with a smile, as Kiki and Trouble walked away. About half way out of the town, Trouble poked Kiki, and used his physic powers to lift her and the box up on top of his head. Kiki smiled as she rode on top of her Claydol friend, "Thank you Trouble." She said, setting the box down in front of her.

The walk back to Pallet town was easy, not as easy as the walk to Viridian town though. Trouble mostly floated down the ledges that were carved into the sloping hillside. A few Hypno's jumped out at them, but Kiki and Trouble easily chucked them back into the bushes. They quickly got back to Pallet town, the sun was his in the sky. The day was only half over.

The pair quickly made their way up to Oak's lab, Kiki still riding on Trouble. As they reached Oak's lab, Trouble picked Kiki up, and set her and the box down on the ground. Kiki walked over to the doors, leaning against them to push them open. Trouble shook his head, "You could have asked." He said softly.

Kiki didn't respond as she knocked on the doors that led to Oaks office. From the inside of the office, she could hear what sounded like an argument. When she had knocked, the argument suddenly stopped, and it was a few seconds before the door opened. Oak stood in the door way, looking just slightly flustered. Leaning against the desk was Gary oak, and sitting on the desk looking absolutely terrified was Gary's Nidoran.

Kiki entered, with Trouble following. Trouble turned around and closed the door silently behind him as Kiki went and put the box on the desk. Kiki walked back and joined Trouble next to the door as Oak walked over and opened the box. Oak picked out a small, red, rectangular object out of the box. Oak flipped the object over, and on the backside was a small, yellow indented Star. Oak smiled, "Yep, this is the one."

He turned around to face both Kiki, who had a confused look on her face. Oak shook his head, "Kiki, do you remember that Key I told you about? This is the key, a simple Pokedex, something that every trainer carries around. You see, I made it like this to accomplish two things, the first is to hide the key in plain sight, and the second to to be able to record the pokemon you befriend. You see, when you hit that button and randomized everything, it wiped all the data on the Pokedex, all my life long work. But, it does have another thing. It will only record pokemon that are naturally native to the Kanto region, and along with that, only pokemon that show up on here are able to evolve."

"What does that mean for me?"

"Kiki, my dear, it means that you will not be able to evolve. At all. But, any pokemon that gets registered in this Pokedex will be able to evolve."

Kiki nodded, she was upset that she would not be able to evolve, to grow stronger, but if others could, then not all was lost. Oak smiled, glad that the small Bagon understood. Just as he was about to hand her the Pokedex though, Gary spoke up, "Oi! Gramps, if she gets a Dex, I want one too. I will not just sit by on the sidelines, not with this stupid poison rat. I want my Charmander back."

Oak sighed, and handed Kiki the Pokedex, before reaching back into the box. He pulled out another Dex, and handed it to his grandson, "There, you can have that one. Good luck." Oak said, obviously done with his arrogant and troublesome grandson. Gary ripped the Dex out of Oak's hand, roughly grabbed his Nidoran by the ears, and marched out of the office, "Smell ya later, looser dragon." He said, before he slammed the doors behind him on his march out of Oak's office and lab.

Oak sighed, "what am I going to do with that boy? He has no respect for anything, except power." Oak looked at Kiki, "Maybe you can teach him a lesson?" Oak said, shrugging, "anyways, good luck on your Journey. Don't forget to register your new friend there when you get back to Viridian city. Oh, and if you leave now, you should be able to make it by dusk."

Kiki nodded, and took her leave, Trouble following. Oak was correct too, the pair reached Viridian city just as night was falling, throwing the surrounding land into darkness. Instead of sleeping outside, Kiki headed to the pokemon center. It only took a few seconds to boot up the PC, and register Trouble as her first companion. While Kiki did that, Trouble talked to Nurse Joy and got them a room at the center. The pair walked back to their room together, and together they laid on their separate beds in silence and darkness. Finally, Kiki broke the darkness, "You know we might die on this quest."

"Yes."

"You know you do not have to do this. I can easily go-"

"Don't. I want to do this. You have given me something to live for, Kiki. I do not care if I die, for I know that I will have died for a worthy cause."

Kiki smiled from where she was laying, "Thank you Trouble. Thank you." She whispered into the darkness as she slipped away into sleep. Trouble nodded from his bed, as he too faded into the land of sleep.

Chapter 1 page 3

Kiki and Trouble woke up early the next morning, just as the sun was rising. The pair silently stretched, and made their way out of the pokemon center. At the front of the center, Kiki looked up at the sky, "It's gonna be a hot day today. Let's get to Viridian forest quickly, it will be nice and cool there."

The pair took off, but just as they were exiting the town, an old man stopped them, "Oh, you look like a smart young adventurer. Better then that smart nosed punk the rushed by yesterday." The old man said with a laugh, "You look like you deserve a gift. Here, take these." The old man said, pulling out three blue and white Pokeballs from his bag, "These are called Friend balls. They automatically record anybody who joins you, all they have to do is touch one of these balls. That way you don't have to worry about forgetting to update who is with you." The old man handed the ball to Kiki, who put them in her bag. There were five balls in total, and the old man smiled, "If you run out, I think most shops have started to sell them."

Kiki nodded, "Thank you, kind sir."

"No problem. May Arceus and the great birds bless you journey, and keep you safe."

Kiki and Trouble waved goodbye to the man as they left the town and entered the next route. Ahead of them, they saw the looming trees of Viridian forest, "Let's go." Kiki said, heading off into the tall grass.

As the sun slowly climbed in the sky, and the heat slowly rose, the pair got closer and closer to the forest. About half way through the day, when the sun was highest and the heat was unbearable, the pair encountered the first pokemon on the route. It was a Piloswine, and the poor thing was collapsed in the middle of the path, panting, "soooooo hot... Too hot." The Piloswine cried out, flailing it's tiny legs.

The Piloswine then noticed Kiki and Trouble, and jumped to it's feet, racing over, "Please! Take me with you! Get me out of this cursed heat!" The Piloswine cried out, throwing it's massive body at Kiki's feet. Kiki stepped back, shocked, but didn't say anything as the Piloswine continued to beg.

Kiki glanced back to Trouble, who just merely shrugged, "Um... Ok, we can take you with us." Kiki said, "We are heading to Viridian forest, can you led us the rest of the way?"

The Piloswine jumped to his feet, his red nose bobbing up and down happily, "Yes! Yes! I can do that! Oh, and my name is Snow." Snow said as he took off down the path, "The forest is this way!"

Kiki chuckled, "well looks like we have a new member." She said softly to Trouble as the pair followed the excited Piloswine.

Trouble looked down at Kiki, "Why did you not use one of the Friend balls?"

"Because I do not know if Snow there will stay with us, or ditch us when we get to the forest. If he stays, I'll register him when we get to the next city."

"Hrm, good point."

The pair stopped talking as they followed Snow down the path. The day passed with out incident, and as the sun was setting into the horizon, the trio made it to the start of the forest. All of them were panting, and covered in sweat. Even Trouble was tired, barely hovering off the ground. The trio collapsed in the shade, leaning against a tree, "Argh, it's hot even in the shade!" Kiki complained, as the sun set lower and lower. She turned to look at Trouble, then to Snow, "Let's crash here for the night. We will take on the forest tomorrow, when the sun rises." She said, as she closed her sweaty eyes with a sigh. They were all tired, and the forest was a dangerous place at night. They were so tired that they all slipped off into the land of dreams before the sun's dying rays disappeared from the land and the moon rose to shower all in it's white essence.

The trio woke up to the birth morning sun knocking on their eye lids. Kiki groaned as she awoke, blinking the sleep away. As she stood and stretched, the other two awoke, Snow grumbled about the heat while Trouble just remained as silent as normal. Kiki shook her head, the sun was only just rising, but it was already hot and muggy, "Let's head into the forest, hopefully it will be cooler." She spoke, in no more than a whisper as she turned to head into the forest.

Inside the forest, it was cooler, but not by much. the humidity made everything muggy and blah. At least they didn't have the sun directly on them. Kiki looked around, noticing movements in the brush. At first she thought they were pokemon, until a girl ran out, covered in scrapes and bruises. The girl looked at the trio, lowering the net she was holding, "You're not the pokemon we're looking for." she said alound, shaking her head. She turned around, and hollered into the woods, "IT'S NOT HERE! KEEP GOING DEEPER!" She ran off shouting into the woods, leaving the trio confused.

Kiki turned around, about to ask the others something, when she noticed a small Bulbasaur peeking out from behind Trouble, "Are they gone?" The Blubasuar asked in a hesitant voice. Kiki nodded, still confused. The Bulbasaur stepped out from behind trouble, looking around nervously, "Thank goodness. Those mean kids have been after me for days. I don't want to go with any of them, they are all so mean to their pokemon. The poor pokemon, they get pushed to their limits in the dreadful heat, and if they show any signs of giving up or taking a break those kids throw rocks at them but the pokemon can't run away cause those kids own them and it's just dreadful!" The Bublasaur looked at Kiki, then to Trouble and Snow, "You guys look nice. And you are another pokemon, you won't be mean like those kids, will you?"

Kiki shook her head no.

"Can.... Can I join you guys? If I join you guys, those kids might leave me alone... And I will alos get to leave the dreaded forest... it's so full of Porygon's it's not funny, and all those porygons do is run into the other forest inhabitints, hurting them with their sharp edges. They also push us out to face the kids while the float up high into the trees. Nobody can hurt them, for we are all tired from having to hide and run from those kids and we don't have the strength to fight back... Can I join you guys?"

Kiki stepped forwards, noting how the Bulbasaur flinched away. Kiki knelt down, and gave the Bulbasaur a warm hug, "Of course you can join us. Though we are on a dangerous journey in which we might die, but we will do our best to stay alive. We won't be mean like those kids, and we will take plenty of breaks along the way."

"Really? Really and truly?" The Bulbasaur teared up, "Thank you! And I don't care how dangerous the journey, As long as I can get out of this forest and away from these kids! Oh, and my name is Hank by the way. It's nice to meet you all." Hank said, tearing up with joy.

Kiki smiled, "The name's Kiki. The big silent guy is Trouble, and the Fury lump with tusks is Snow." Kik said, pointing to each pokemon in turn, "It's nice to meet you Hank. Now come on, let's get going. I wanna be out of this forest by nightfall." Kiki said, with a smile as she turned around.

The walk through the forest was not a walk at all, it was a battle. Though most of the other pokemon the group saw left them alone, the Porygon attacked the mercilessly, and on top of that, the kids from before did not like the fact that the group had "stolen" their prize. The group was fought through the forest, atacking anything that came at them. The proygon, though they attacked on hoards, were easy to fend off. Trouble just blasted then with a few psychic blasts while Snow hit them with his Icy wind, and the hoard scattered back up into the trees to recover and regroup. The kids on the other hand, they were hard. They pushed their pokemon to the limits to attack the group, hitting their pokemon with sticks and stones if they felt the pokemon was not attacking hard enough. Finally it got to the point where Kiki ordered the group to just kill the pokemon, to put them out of their misery. She couldn't stand to see the suffering anymore. Even though their pokemon were dead, the kids kept on attacking with sticks and stones, but at that point the forest pokemon took their revenge.

The forest pokemon, execpt for the Porygon, came out of the forest in droves. Bulbasaurs, Teddiursas, numels, they all came out of the forest in droves, bent on revenge. Kik motioned for the group to move on, they were no longer needed here. They walked off just as the kids dropped their sticks and stones and ran home to their mothers, the forest pokemon chasing after. One kid was killed, the rest sustained serious wounds and never entered the forest again.

The group exited the forest just as the sun set behind the horizon. Kiki walked forwards into the darkness, she could see Pewter city up ahead. But in the darkness, things were a lot more scary. Pokemon rustled in the grass, the trees swayed ominously in the darkness. Suddenly, a pokemon rushed out, just barly missing Kiki. Spooked, Kiki jumped backwards, tripping over a root, and the contents of her bag spilled out into the darkness.

Kiki just barely registered the flash of a bright light next to her. She looked over, and saw in the light of on of her friend balls, a Spinda. The Spinda looked shocked, and promptly dropped the ball, "I'm sorry! i... I was just trying to help!" The spinda gal whimpered, on the verge of tears. Kiki stood up, in silence, as she collected the rest of the Balls. Snow and Hank went over to comfort the gal, but Kiki made no move.

Finally, Kiki sighed, "Come." She said, short and brisk, walking off. The others followed, but the Spinda was hesitant, "yes! You too!" Kiki called back, not even bothering to look at the spinda. The Spinda gave a happy noise, and tottered after the group.

"Uh... Uh... Miss.... Can I call you Mommy?" The spinda asked from the back of the group, as they walked into Pewter city, "I lost my mommy when the big white light thing came. I don't knwo where she went.... I want my mommy. Can you be my Mommy? You don't look like my mommy, but I don't mind. None of the others wanted to by my mommy, they all looked at me weird and tottered away... they think I is stupid, since they say they had always lived in semi tree place. But Derpy knows ohterwise! I know that we used to live in this really pretty field, it was all covered in ash that made everything silver. and then these-"

Kiki stoped the spinda who called herself Derpy, "Wait, you can remeber?"

"Yeah. The others think that Derpy is just stupid. I is not stupid!"

Kiki felt like hugging the Spinda. Somebody else who remebered! But, maybe it was cause she was so young. Kiki stepped back, looking at the Spinda. It was true that she, like most other pokemon dislike spindas for they were weak looking, with their tottering steps and the fact that they were everywhere in their natural home, but at the same time, this spinda actually remembers what had happend. Kiki shook her head, she would decide this later.

When the reached the Pokemon center, Kik called Oak from the payphone. She had a problem, one she didn't know what to do with. She had found both derpy and Snow on the same route, but Snow had not yet been registered, while Derpy had been. After the phone rang for about five minuets, Kiki hung up. She would just roll with things, odds are something would happen before the league found out. Kiki sighed, and returned to her room in the center. In there, she found everybody playing with these little dolls that looked exactly like them.

"What is going on here?" Kiki asked, causing everybody but Derpy to look up.

"The nurses took a liking to Derpy here, and dropped off these little toys. They said we could have the bagon toy, since it looks so much like you and they have extras of it." Trouble said, waving one of his short arms to the small plush that Darpy was playing with. Kiki shook her head, and went over to the beds. They were bunk beds, and Kiki climbed up to the top bunk, flopping down. Just as she got settled, there was a knock on the door, "Come in." Kik said aloud, sitting up with a sigh.

One of the nurses came in with a small necklace, "This was just dropped off by an older gentlman. he said it was supposed to go to Kiki."

Kiki looked at necklace, it had a small, heart shaped locket on the end of a silver wire, "Did the man say anything else?" Kiki asked, climbing off the bed.

"Yeah, something really weird. He said, 'I hope you can forgive me, for what I did to you.' it was really strange."

Kiki walked up, and took the locket from the nurse, "What did he look like?"

"Well, He was wearing this oranging red suit, with this bright green tie. He was older looking, with these golden eyes." The nurse said, before bowing and then exiting. Kiki just looked down at the locket, it was decently sized, not like the little tiny ones. No, this one could hold a decently sized picture. Kiki returned to her bed, and opened up the locket. On the right inside side, she found a picture of herself and her family, all happy and smiling. On the otherside was a picture of her current gorup, including Derpy. Kiki looked at the pitcures, and noticed one thing. On the side with her family, some of her brothers were fading out, disappearing from the picture.

Kiki closed the locket as she closed her eyes. There was something odd at play here, But she didn't question it. Everything was odd after what she had done. Kiki closed her eyes, mentally silencing out the noise that the others were making, until she fell asleep. Not long after Kiki fell asleep, the others went off to their bed too, falling asleep shortly after laying down, until it was Derpy that was left. Derpy tossed her Bagon plushie, which she had named Kiki 2, up onto the bed, before crawling up the ladder after. She staid up for a little bit longer, just playing with the plush, before sleep finally over came her aswell.
