Re: The Cloud Guardians OOC
Aaagghh so many options. At this rate we will never decided anything and I'm tempted to just say screw it and make the transformations near instantaneous, like an animators deal. That takes about a minute or so I think...

Re: The Cloud Guardians OOC
I think the harpy legs would be fun to work with. The idea of using them as a fighting tool hadn't occurred to me but it's a good one.
And this is taking a long time, and I know we all want to get the RP started. I'm tempted to just turn the transformation (how was that going to work anyway?) into an Animorphs kind of thing and have it be quick and relatively painless, but also disorienting and random about which parts transform when. You transform, you get your wings first? Well next time it's the legs. Have fun
that kind of deal.

Re: The Cloud Guardians OOC
Listen, if we are going for the silly/science/let be random thing.
First week we will change the placement of mass, lower blood volume, hollow bones.
Next to the change we will grow those massive wings.
In human form they fold over eachother, giving some cracking sounds, till they are fully folden onto the back. Making the back seem a bit weirder, but loose clothes will hide that. The feathers and membrane will melt into the skin of the kids.
The backclaw is a extension of the ankle. The rest of the toes turn into the three claws in avian form.
So when we turn from human to avian the bones on our back will break loose from the rest of our backs. 'Tearing' our normal skin off and turning it into the wing membrane and feathers. The skin below what was pulled off will already contain the feathers.
This way, on the X-rays we will have hollow bones and several spare bones on our back. The feathers will blend into the skin as normal skin, making the skin seem a bit thicker and tougher but further normal.
With the tearing and folding, morphing time is shortend.
Less sci and more fi.
On another subject. What were the monsters/mutants?
I mean are the cities we live in the rich who managed to get a ticket to freedom and whats below the poor, mutated beyond reconision?
Or is there another tale behind them?

Re: The Cloud Guardians OOC
You know, I'm actually good with that. Extra bones are always there; not really a problem except for doctors.
Uh, the monsters and mutants. A lot of the monsters will be really weirdly mutated creatures, like a bat that's the size of a person and doesn't have any legs but still has the tail, or a massive centipede, or very very tiny venomous horses or stuff like that.
Yes, most of the humans who Ascended to the Floating Cities were probably very rich, although the Cities by this point probably have their own caste system. But that still would have left a good deal of humans down on the planet's surface.
Most of them probably just died. The ones that didn't, though... I have an idea for creatures they could have become but I'm hesitant based on the discussions we've been having about the avid forms.
They definitely won't be normal humans anymore. But beyond that, I can't say much.
Now. Should I make the first post?

Re: The Cloud Guardians OOC
Yes, alright and yup.
Oh, if you want you can blame Damien for convincing everybody to do the ritual.
If it was possible I wanted to spin it like that anyway.
Atleast we now have an easy way to switch types that don't take to long, does leave some blood (tearing off the cover skin) and enough for the docs to distrust us.
Let the game begin.

Re: The Cloud Guardians OOC
Oi Radda
Everyone
Just pick whichever you like best for the ruddering. Bird legs, extra wings, doesn't matter. Not all of the avid forms have to be the same, something I seemed to have forgotten until just now. Whichever you like better becomes your character's avid form.
And, Radda, for future reference please use the Backstage thread for all OOC needs. The (( )) thing is something I used to do a lot but that's before they made this forum and I'm pretty sure it's kind of frowned upon now as ruining the flow of the rp posts.
EDIT: Oh poor Carmine. His stomach's already acting up. Mark is not going to get involved because he doesn't really know how to deal with people having problems of that nature.

I'll post again tomorrow! Chances are, Frey started screaming or something when Radda pulled his shirt off.

See you then!
Poor Frey. I have a feeling he's going to get terrorized.
