The twitter button on creature pages has been disabled for now, until the bit.ly malware warnings have been sorted out or we have found a replacement link shortener.

For those of you who have bit.ly links in their signature or profile, please remove them so no one is in danger of getting malware from it.

Issues with bit.ly have been resolved. They were erroneously listed as an unsafe site. Things are back to normal now and the Twitter button has been enabled on the creature pages again.

The badges you can achieve by participating in different things on-site have been moved to a different location. They can no longer be seen when going to your "public Keep" (that is: magistream.com/user/your-username-here) but are instead located in your profile.

The aim of this change is to make the badges easier to find and also to prepare for the future: As I'm sure there will be several events, quests and other shenanigans that grant badges, the space reserved for them on the public Keep gets crowded, especially for people with long usernames and lots of badges. Moving the badges to the profile grants more space for collecting more badges!

Every creature page also now lists the artist and writer information.

The holidays are not quite yet upon us but fast approaching. There will be gifting. :yey: If you still have unopened gifts from Halloween it is recommended you open them sooner than later, as once the holiday gifting begins all unopened gifts from previous events will be removed.

An "Embed tab" button has been added to the "Embed multiple" page. This allows you to embed a whole tab with a single click.

Be advised that for very large tabs it might take some time to embed all, or depending on your browser and computer processing power the embedding might get stuck. 2500 creatures have been successfully embedded in one go with the button in my tests.

This is for everyone's information:

MagiStream's colocation center will be doing a hardware changeover tonight at midnight EST. It should last 5-15 minutes, during which MS will be unavailable. There's nothing dangerous about this, but if MS doesn't come back online after 15 minutes, Tristan will fix it as soon as possible.

I've enabled editing of sent messages for all users, meaning you can edit your PM as long as the recipient hasn't read it yet.

While I was at it, I've also enabled forwarding of PMs for everyone, since that will make it easier for everyone to show PMs to moderators if necessary.

The following addendum has been made to the botting part of the Rules of Conduct, as it doesn't seem to have been clear enough for everyone:
Likewise, using bots or proxies to grow your creatures or gain an advantage on the site in any other way, shape or form is also prohibited.

With the dawning of May Magistream faces a few changes that I hope many of you will find useful!
  • You can now access your own profile via a "View your profile" link up there right next to your PM and trade info and the "View your posts" link. Image
  • The box on your Keep that presents you with the public address to your creatures now takes into account the tab, so you can copy the tab's public address easily.
    Image
  • After releasing a creature you are now taken back to the tab where the creature was instead of the main tab.
  • The flavour text on the personal Keep page has been brought back.
  • The "Read more" link leading to the world on the abovementioned flavour text has been fixed for when customsorting any other than the main tab.
  • If you are releasing or freezing a creature and click "No" on the confirmation box you are now taken back to that creature in its tab, instead of just the main tab.
  • The link on creature naming page that says "« Back to creature page" now actually takes you to that creature in its tab instead of going to the main tab.
As always, if you encounter errors, problems or weird issues, please report it on the Support and Suggestions area.

May is a great month for Magistream as its birthday month, and I have on good authority that there will be great things happening a little later on to the month! This is a heads-up for all of you who still have unopened presents from around last Christmas. Be sure to open them latest next week or they will be forever gone! :t-boo:

I have just made a small change to the black hover-over box that you get when breeding a creature or checking creature information on a lineage page.

If you are the owner of the creature you now see the creature's information even if it is in a hidden tab. Previously if a creature was in a hidden tab, the owner would only get a "A magic and mysterious thingthing" message when hovering over the creature.
