This story tells of the first two to discover Chaos and Balance magic. This maaay tie in with me MS story, The Sickness. But the idea of combining spells has always interested me, so... ta-dah~Story under spoilers! Hope you enjoy!

Of Chaos and Balance
Many years ago, lived two brothers in the mountains. They were talented magi, who studied all kinds of magic and raised many creatures. The brothers were happy and lived a peaceful, uneventful life. Until the day the elder brother discovered Chaos.
The elder brother had stumbled upon it by accident, when he accidently combined fire magic with earth magic. The results could have been considered disastrous, but the elder brother saw the untamed power in the mixed spell, and began to experiment with other magics. He started to master these “Chaos spells” and his younger brother became concerned. The elder was completely engrossed with his work, and one day the he crossed the line by killing another magi. The elder decided that he was powerful enough to conquer the entire world, and set off with his creatures to do such.
The younger brother, fearful of what the elder would do, tried to learn the weakness to his chaos magic. The younger discovered that his brother used spells that clashed against each other to make his deadly spells. But, by using spells that complimented each other, a magi could create stronger, more stable spells. The younger brother called this Balance magic, and pursued the elder.
The younger brother confronted the elder out in the plains close to a great castle, and challenged him to a duel. The elder told his brother he did not wish to fight, but the younger refused to back down. The two clashed, brother against brother, Chaos against Balance.
After three days of lobbing their mixed spells at each other and battling each other’s creatures, the younger brother managed to defeat the elder. The elder brother, weakened by his own spells, collapsed and died. The younger mourned his death, though he realized what could have happened had he lived. He and his brother’s body returned to their mountain home, and the elder was buried in a dip on the largest of the mountains. The younger brother then went into the darkest of caves. In the deepest part of the cavern, he carved his and his elder brother’s story into the walls, warning all others of how dangerous both Chaos and Balance magic could be. When the younger brother finished, he cast one final spell, and vanished.
No one knows what happened to the younger brother, and very few know of the legacy he left behind. But some magi have dared to learn Chaos and Balance magic, and are slowly discovering the secrets that the brothers have left.
