(no response as to whether it has to be directly MS-related or not...hopefully the rose will stand in for Imps and Doves)
A shoeless Cinderella, who never made the ball -
Standing in the darkened wings, awaiting curtain call...
In search of ever-after, like in the Broadway shows :
Isn't that the fate my story shows ? ...almost a rose.
Fairy tales promise us forever -
Fairy tales swear we'll be together,
But they fade away, before the curtains close...
Isn't that the fate our story shows?
Almost a rose - almost a rose.
A prince who could be charming - a knight without a lance...
Wishing that the author would give him half a chance
To win the happy ending, where love survives and grows :
Isn't that the fate your story shows? ...almost a rose.
Almost a rose, beside the garden wall -
Almost a rose - then the petals fall...
Almost a rose - then the story changes -
Everything you count on rearranges,
And the dream you worked and hoped for goes...
Almost a rose.
We bought the dream of happiness the fairy stories sell -
Though we've paid for it a thousand times, reality is hell :
I want you, and you want her - what she wants, no one knows...
Isn't that the fate our story shows? ...almost a rose.
Fairy tales promise us forever -
Fairy tales swear we'll be together,
But they fade away, before the curtains close...
Isn't that the fate our story shows?
Almost a rose - almost a rose.
...almost a rose.
Almost a Rose
Re: Almost a Rose
Aww, I got feels from this. Not happy feels. You make people feel things with your writing, sir/madam. Well done.

Re: Almost a Rose
Thank you - I wish I could have tied the site in more directly, but I have never had my heart broken by MS, praise heaven.
