American-born Chinese here! Though I haven't been to China in a couple of years now, and was sort of set to see Taiwan and Hong Kong this past spring break, but that fell through. OTL I'll be studying abroad next spring, though, so maybe I still have time to go while on that side of the world?
If you're staying at a hotel for even the first night, there might be Wi-Fi? Though I've had an experience myself where Wi-Fi didn't work if I shut the hotel room door, which was a pain.

Ahh Canada has iPads with Wifi, so nice of them...
Sucks about the 4G thing, my brother still hasn't responded to my text asking him about roaming. I think we're taking an overnight train to Dalin, though, so it's a no on the hotel situation. And I'm going for a visit to family members.

Are you flying from Canada? Good luck with the long flight! Though flights have gotten more tolerable in terms of distractions at one's seat, especially if you get seats with chargers beneath them. I think. Your relatives might have a Wi-fi router once you're there? Have a good trip all the same, though! ; v;)/

My family lives just south of Dalian, across the bay! Though half of them moved even further south to Chongqing, and I'm not great with Sichuan levels of spicy food.

Ah wow that's so cool! Same though about the food, but if I eat anything even marginally spicy I'll start crying hahaha.

I can handle nothing but the very mildest levels of spiciness, but I can maybe pretend that I'm okay with it if I"m eating with company.

I've never been out of the country, but I'm heading to Canada this summer to check out colleges. A bunch of my friends have been to china and they said that depending on where you go, it can be really hot during the summer.

I always took it as being just it would be more awkward if Chrom kept referring to him as a woman.
Like how if you call someone the wrong name and they correct you then it's just "oops my bad", but if you've been calling them the wrong name for ages and you discover you're wrong then it's a little worse than "whoops", because then you worry you've perhaps offended them but they were two polite to say anything.
