@video games;

Have any of you ever played Zack and Wiki: Quest for Barbado's Treasure? It's an AMAZING GAME, and really unique~

@AI:
That's great to hear about both! I really hope your health continues to improve, and I'm glad your therapist is cool.

@applemint:
Re: Durability
I'd say there are no set number of uses for each weapon, or it might be tricky to keep count. Also there's the fact that FE doesn't really do the whole regular weapon maintenance thing, which would keep weapons use able for a lot longer. But if you want your character's weapon to break, that's up to you. Although if anyone does anything that would break their weapon, it'd be nice to have a dash of realism by letting it break. weapons are not toys after all.

@mands:
Yo! Glad you liked the forms, thank you! And I missed you (and Seraphine!) too, can't wait for this to get under way!

@videogames:
Nope. Knew someone who did, but I myself haven't played it. At least I think it was that one they played...they definitely played some sort of Zack and Wiki game I don't know how many there are whoops I don't know much except pirate kid and a monkey?. I was just replaying a little Majora's Mask (well, giving the 3D version a spin, can't say I'm overly fond of the swimming changes) and now going back to a little bit of Monster Hunter.

Hahaha wow, I haven't had the chance to legitimately post in a bit. Anyway, that's because I started going to this school called Erzhong in Tongliao, and their school hours are ridiculous haha. I am still... trying my best to get revisions done, with Umbry's help. I am totally useless in this regard. MAYBE THIS WEEKEND... At least I don't have school on Saturday.

@videogames: There's only one Zack and Wiki, and it's surprisingly emotional and deep despite the "kiddy" look of the cover.

@durability: for drama, I was thinking that someone is injured (protecting him?? +bonus points) but Linden's heal staff broke, and so in his ANIME EMOTIONAL RAGE he smashes the opponent over the head with his staff...repeatedly. Of course, that depends on if someone's willing to get their (possible love interest??) character injured to the point that Linden thinks they're dead?? So probably not haha.

Also, I edited my form a bit, sorry for any inconvenience! I tried to make Linden's skills more realistic for his upbringing. He's just wielding a heal staff now, and he's better at treating illnesses than most battle medics (which I assume focus more on sealing stab wounds??). However, because of this he's absolutely horrible at using his heal staff and Kalsi's probably the better choice if you want to survive. XD

@videogames:
I wasn't sure, I'd only heard of one game but it sounds almost like an installment in a series.
But you do tend to find a lot of games are deceptive. Not just the ones that look "kiddy". I mean I know of a lot of people who picked up Cry of Fear thinking it'd just be spooky jump scares. And then the story hit them.

@durability:
Sounds perfectly fine, just I don't think there'd be any limited uses as such. As in, bronze sword can be used fifty times then gone, because who knows how many times they've been used already?
It does sound like something interesting/amusing to see...though I'd just say keep in mind that staves were not intended to be used as weapons so he'd probably end up doing more damage to the staff than his foe.

And not a problem! The edits are small enough from what I saw that it shouldn't mean starting from scratch.

@durability: thanks for replying! Limited uses would be rather dumb, as steel is more durable than iron anyways, unlike what the game says. Plus I'm pretty sure silver weapons would be really weak?? I mean, silver is a really soft metal.

@form edits: I'm glad its alright! Thank you for taking the time to write up these amazing form corrections ahh

Also, iirc Awakening staves are made of metal? At least the top details? So I think the blunt force trauma would be able to kill someone from bashing their skull in, though the staff itself may start splintering after a few good whacks. (Even if it was just a huge wooden stick, it'd probably still be able to knock someone out?) IF ACE ATTORNEY HAS TAUGHT ME ANYTHING IT'S THAT BLUNT FORCE KILLS

*drapes self over Saria* Hallo.

*is buried* D: Halp

On the weapons convo: I always figured that the pretty glowy bits on top of most staves were glass, crystal or some sort of gem and would shatter at a heavy blow, hence why healers can't attack (I mean, blunt force trauma is pretty devastating, and they're carrying kinda sorta mace/club things). Also, just figured out that weapons repair themselves if you have another of the weapon ._.

Durability:
Yep! Although depending on the iron, it could be really soft too, which just means you need to sharpen it more. The uses in Fire Emblem are merely by strength of weapon in game and not the strength of the actual metal realistically.

Forms:
I wish I could at least say how much longer it's gonna be, but...with everyone preoccupied with exams it's just quite busy. I'm sorry that any necessary feedback is taking so long!

Weapons:
They'd likely not be solid metal, either coated or hollow to 1) reduce expenses of production (or else only the richest of rich would be able to afford a simple heal staff) and 2) reduce weight. Sure they're slender in body, but the top part and the length would cause them to weigh a lot. And since priests/clerics/most healing classes aren't super strong, it'd just be unreasonable to have them carry that much weight - most aspiring healers probably couldn't lift the staff in the first place! And then there's the fact they seem to have some sort of magical crystal on top - if the metal was heavy, they'd overbalance easily, causing that to shatter. And if the metal was heavy enough, the difference in proportions would cause the top to break off due to weight alone.
As for blunt force trauma, yes it is pretty good for killing, but it all depends on the way the victim is hit, the strength of the attacker and the force behind the hit in general. And with the proportions of those staves, it looks like hitting someone over the head would likely snap the top piece off. And with that coming off, you'd lose a lot of the force put into the swing in the first place. So maybe the victim might be knocked out, but they could just as easily end up pissed off and conscious with a concussion that might give them bother later, but not immediately. Depends all in the force and such.

@Lorelei:
You brought this on yourselfffffff! *squirms in the pile to hug Lorelei*

Well, if they used a Kneader staff that would probably work really well- thing looks like a shillelagh, and the picture makes the ball look metal. Still think staves would make good emergency weapons.
