I swear I'm alive but I might drop off the face of the earth for two week starting June 8th, because I'm doing a rotation in the neurology department at the teaching hospital and... I've heard that students frequently stay for 30+ hours straight. really looking forward to that (and uhh not feeding my dog?? I don't know what I'm going to do about that heh heh..)
this also might be super belated but I hope everyone's finals went well I finally finished last week, soooo much stress eating and stress shopping haha

My brother is a couple of years younger than me, and though we'd head up from NY, we might go into Canada for some college trips ourselves, though we're not sure which schools to hit yet. I don't know a lot about Canadian schools, and the trip might happen during my school year, but it's been a while since I've gone that far north * v* If we're starting very soon, I'm actually going to Maine for a few days, but I think I would still be able to post. I'm packing my laptop, at any rate. The only question now is one of Wi-fi or reception...

Staves could also be a kind of polished wood, or a rod of metal/wood made thicker/reinforced by wrapping it, like a really long sword pommel without the sword bit, haha. Or more like an axe if it has some sort of point of impact to take all the weight of the swing, since that would have a lot to do with the damage it deals, like Saria said. o wo I'm sure some dense woods could be sturdier for handheld items and weapons, and then that would be hilariously dangerous.

Re: the possibility of cancer arising from healing, I think it could really be a concern, unless the healing magic has, like, a safety mechanism built in, like having the ability to perfect replicate every cell because it''s magic and not natural division (unless it was localized time magic acting on a wound). Our bodies naturally produce faulty/damaged cells (i.e. random mutations, incorrect gene transcription that isn't fixed, physical wear to chromosomes, etc.) l that have the ability to develop into cancer, but either they don't have all the right mutations (some of which include the ones that make the division uncontrollable) to become cancer or the immune system spots them and gets them before they get out of hand.

Rapid division without a corrective mechanism could cause that area to just randomly develop more-than-normal damaged cells at one time, so maybe healing magic either is perfect or heightens the immune system? The latter could probably positively affect a person at the receiving end of the magic and also be useful for healing non-tissue damage based health issues (like getting over a cold or something).
But what if a immune system response being heightened actually negatively affected someone, like if they had an autoimmune disease? That would seem against the point of a heal staff, hm.

(Takumi's design is my favorite honestly.) As for streams, I only know about the Nintendo one on their YouTube channel... there are definitely more but I've been trying my best to keep myself away from those until the game comes out!

Thanks about the theme stuff oh man I read through the entirety of DGM in two? days and cried because hiatus.

You must be the luckiest person I know... I don't know if you've heard the news, but it's everything but confirmed by SQ Twitter that DGM is coming back on July 17.

It's been a long wait, and I wish I wasn't away from home on vacation right now! I'll get my form up (edited into my old post?) when we hit the hotel next, but I could practically explode with the DGM news...!! It's all I've blogged on Tumblr for years now.

Did I mention i was in the hospital for six days? I came back home last Friday I'm alive, but need IV antibiotics for a while and need to keep a pump with my in a fanny pack 24/7.

I am in the clear now, but I could've died if antibiotics didn't exist. I had an infected clot in my arm. It was staph, and it was really fun being woken up at 5 AM for blood cultures for almost a week. My forearms and right have plenty of bruises from it.

Oh, and I'm a blood thinner now.
