You take a slow sip from your water bottle while sitting on a mossy log. The expedition has gone great for the whole team because of their discoveries. You sigh in shame, because well, you haven't discovered anything here. Well, you've seen a ton to report but there will always be someone who's first to report it. Maybe it has to do with you waking up late. Very late.
You look up on the sky, deciding to stare at the clouds and maybe count every one that passes by. A gentle wind swishes through and the few bangs that are not tucked enough dances softly in front of your sight. Perhaps exploring a little wouldn't hurt. Yet again, everything around you has been noted down by the others, nothing really interesting to tell when you head back to camp. A flutter of determination, positivity, and adventure empowered you and you decide to walk around a bit.
Despite you not being capable of reporting anything in return, you are still amazed at the life around you and every so and often you would cautiously stop and admire. That is until, you step on something sharp and painful that pierced through your boot. You jolt at the pain and you instantly tumbled down. You struggled to sit up, but you eventually did, and held your wounded foot. For a moment you worry about yourself, you have not brought any creature with you because you only expected to walk for a bit. You called for help, but nobody came. A few creatures ran away.
You sighed, there was nothing you can do but rest. You sit there for a couple of minutes, but the pain never resided. Worry starts to overtake you since this place is new territory. You have read a few submissions and reports concerning about the plants in Taggelisk from the group, but it's not like you can remember everything. You have no idea how to treat this, every time your foot touches something, you wince in pain. It's never ending.
You slightly doze off, when you woke up, you see something in the distance. Something big, and it's moving. A part of you is happy because there is a chance that it could be the others, but there is also another chance that it won't be. You realize that the sun is setting, which is bad, since night is coming it and won't be safe out here. You have a strong urge to wave your hand, but if it's a creature, or maybe a predator in this case, you'd make it easy to lure it to you. So you resisted it.
Since you have nothing else to do, you stare at the sunset off on the horizon. It was beautiful to say the least. For a moment you forget about your wound's pain and you're glad that you have. When you turn to look at the mysterious figure in the distance you realize it's coming closer and you make an absolute conclusion that it's a creature.
It walks closer towards you. You immediately observe it, it's something you haven't seen before and for a moment you are overjoyed. Now only if you didn't prick yourself, you could've observed it more easily. But you just had too when you didn't need it the most. It proceeded to walk closer to you, seeing it doesn't have any fangs, you thought it could be a herbivore. You stare in awe at it's weird coloring, you never really expected a brightly colored creature in swamps. But now that you've noticed it, it's colouration actually resembles the sunset just ahead of you.
It stopped in front of you, and connected it's rosy-colored eyes with yours. For a moment you feared it a little, but deep down inside you sensed that it doesn't want to hurt you. It broke it's gaze and you somehow make out that it's staring at your wound, which confused you. The bizarre creature slightly shook it's body and a flower fell. You tried to look around if there was a tree/plant nearby that must've dropped the flower, but as you looked up closely at the creature you saw a tree attached at it's back adorned with the same type of flower.
It grabbed the flower using it's mouth, bending it's neck you notice that it has wood-like armor that goes all over it's body. It laid the flower on top of your head and you can already smell the aroma wafting around you. You grab the flower on top of your head while struggling a little because of your wound. You notice shuffling from the creature and you soon find out that the creature is using it's mouth to carry or in this case, hold your wounded foot for you. You smile a little from the help this creature provided. You have no idea what it is and you haven't even met it properly but it is definitely helping you.
You look back at the flower that you have, it's pinkish with a hint of violet at the tips of the petals. You sniff once again and a sweet aroma greeted your senses. You have no idea why, but you have a weird urge to eat it. It's a very strong urge too, should you? But before you know it, the alluring aroma convinced you otherwise. You took a bite from one of the petals. Sweet. The right mixture of sweetness. You feel as if you're eating a mixed combination of sweets, all tamed in one small petal.
What was rather magical is that you notice the pain from your wound melt away. You grew confused at this. So you quickly grabbed your wounded foot at looked at it, only to see a wound healing fast before your very eyes. This sight fascinated you and soon it healed completely. You turned to thank the mysterious creature only to see it slowly walking away. You slipped your boot on and tried to chase after it, only to see others of it's kind walking along with it. A lot. It seemed like they were heading towards the sunset, while the others are munching on some grass and plants all over the place.
You decide that you do not want to interfere as of now but you'd just rather observe it from afar. After all, this is something you haven't seen before.
