Welcome new people!

I actually just recently watched Another, and I have to agree. I still really enjoyed it, but they didn't quite wrap up the mystery in a satisfying way. Too much over the top ultraviolence.

Ah, Another
Spoiler
I still laugh at the scene where the boy survives the chandelier falling on him only to get smooshed by a pillar X3

Meanwhile, I've been enjoying watching Orange and 91 Days, I'm watching a bunch of other things in addition to those, but those are the two I'm enjoying the most, followed by the second seasons of Shokugeki no Souma and Arslan Senki *u*

That was funny, especially since the people undder the chandelier survive and he... well, doesn't.
@Raneth: I would give 91 days a try. It is an interesting and engrossing mafia anime with a good revenge plot and sympathetic characters. ^.^
Shogo Makishima... just an unemployed bitter lit major who wanted to be a cereal killer.

Remember, kids, it is called looting, not shoplifting.

I plan to watch all of these when the finish. I mainly tend to marathon finished anime, so me following Macross Delta along its episode releases is already an outlier for me, haha.

The most satisfying thing about Another, to me, was
Spoiler
the umbrella scene.
Other than that, yeah, it wasn't a very satisfying horror anime - in fact, of the horror anime I've watched, only Higurashi and Shinsekai Yori (because, let's face it, it IS also horror alongside being sci-fi masking as supernatural) have been truly good.

So I recently watched a couple new anime.
School-Live! And Cute High Earth Defense Club Love!

Ya'll should check these out.
The first is a slice of life/horror/psychological anime. A highschool anime with a dark twist. It's had to talk about without giving away spoilers, its definitely worth going into without being spoiled for the full effect.
The main is delivered with a wham scene right at the end of the first episode, which was peppered with hints that things aren't quite right.
Also, the openings gradually change ever few episodes.
It's a short anime, only 12 episodes long, so it doesn't take long to watch.
If you want a spoiler on the twist, look below.
Spoiler
The twist is zombies. It's a zombie apocalypse and the main characters are the only survivors of it, at least in that area and are living in the school.
Earth Defense Club, or Boeibu as I've been shortening it to. Think Sailor Moon, but with boys instead of girls. It's magical boy anime, completely with glittery transformation scenes, silly attack names and outfits (I mean their transformation phrase is 'Love Making' and they're called 'Battle Lovers' which should tell you everything you need to know) and it's gloriously hilarious. Also gratuitously naked butts for every transformation scene. Also they have a talking animal companion from outer space(a pink wombat).
The most reluctant heroes you'll ever meet, it's great. And it pokes fun at the genre in general and does not take itself seriously.
The first season is 12 episodes, the second season is currently at 10 episodes.
I binged the entire first season yesterday and it is hilarious.

edit: Fair warning on Earth Defense Club, there's a lotta naked butts. Dude butts. With magical girl-esc transformation scenes and the fact they they hang out in the bath-house/hotsprings at least once an episode(usually after a fight), yeah there's plenty of uncensored naked butts.

Let's not have this thread completely die, shall we? :'D

Why yes, everybody and their hamster seems to be in Yuri on Ice hell this autumn, me included.
Current thoughts after ep 8 are that so far we know very, VERY precious little about Victor. To me that seems like it might be a deliberate choice on the writers' part, given the shows themes and my hopeful guess is that
Spoiler
we might see something soon now that Yuri might stay with Yakov while Victor is flying off to Japan to see either Makkachin's recovery or death.

/links to long tumblr post that showcases how devoid the show is so far with details on Victor's personal life

I love Yuri On Ice. It's the only show I'm watching this season.

Because I'm totally not watching Keijo!!! too or anything...I swear... :smirk:

But yeah, I'm really hoping that YOI stays as good as its been. I look forward to it every week. I also hope its popularity results in more shows like it, although it will be hard to match its level of maturity.

I've also been watching Yuri on Ice, amongst other things, and really like it =D

Occultic;Nine, however, has been a bizarre trip that I'm not sure how I feel about :p

I wouldn't say that YOI is necessarily very mature as a show, but it does have a nice mixture of realistic career angst and comedy, and it's nice seeing more shows that have protagonists closer to our age, instead of Highschool 5ever.

Tbh, I do plan to check out Keijo!! when it finishes, because I've come to the point of watching enough anime that I also watch a lot of things exactly because they seem very bad or ridiculous, or both. I simply don't care anymore about necessarily watching good anime anymore.
