So I've had a bunch of days were I just haven't done any writing. Think I'm going to open up the document, cover up the word count and just get some writing done rather than worrying about it.

I didn't manage much yesterday--didn't even log in to update my count. And today I have a killer headache that makes looking at a computer screen difficult. Maybe I'll do some handwritten stuff after work.

I've been tempted to switch to some handwritten stuff because I'd hopefully be less prone to editing it because once it's on paper that's it but I don't really know.

Catching up slowly now, still think I'll be behind at the end of the day but at least I don't feel too bad about my word count now..

I'm way behind now due to not feeling well, so I've come up with a plan for tonight (if I choose to watch election coverage). For every state Trump wins, someone dies or some new obstacle pops up for my characters. For every state Clinton wins, they get a tiny ray of hope.

Where did the inspiration go?

Wolfsister, are you sure that's a good idea? It might end up as a disaster.
Even better, since you had that thought, will you let the end of your novel be influenced by who wins the elections?

Nah, they die in the end regardless. Maybe if it goes well I'll let just one of them live, though.

I'm going to turn off word count and just go bonkers again in an hour, hopefully that'll make a dent in how far behind I am haha.

I'm just writing a bunch of really random stuff. I think I'd like to add in memoirs from one of my characters somehow, so I'm writing a bunch of 1st person POV backstory for him. Not sure how it will get put in, though, with my two side-by-side storylines--the other main characters are illiterate so there's nothing comparable for them.

Edit: as promised, I'm killing people off as election results trickle in. Nobody important, but the dead bodies have started to accumulate.

Edit 2: I'm frustrated enough that I just went ahead and jumped to the (long-planned) main character death all the way at the end.

Edit 3: I decided he needed more near-death experiences before he actually dies. Then I had my other main character unwillingly murder some small children.

Edit 4: Trump just took Ohio. An entire slum just got sent to their deaths a little prematurely.

Edit 5: not out just yet. One main character just saved the mother of the other two, but she's very ill...an hour later, oh look, she's dead too.

Wolfsister is gonna write a version of And there were none. Novel. Mom said that book is actually quite good. I am gonna try to read it sometime in the near future.
