My eyes slowly opened, as I arose from a deep slumber. The carpet beneath where I lay was as soft as a mother's heart, but as cold as death itself.
I shivered and looked at my surroundings, taking in every little detail.
The walls were covered in striped wallpaper, which alternated between a light and dark pink colour. The carpet was a light salmon and had stains in some places. I looked up at the ceiling to see that it was also a pink colour.
The room had white furniture in it. A large bed was behind me, and across from the bed was a dressing table.
I stood up and made my way to the doorway. The room was dark, but light enough for me to see. I had never seen this house before, nor been inside of it. I felt like an adventurer. Exploring the unknown and ready to face anything that came at me.
I was brought back into reality when I heard a babe's cry from down the hall. I quickly hid beside the doorway (still in the room I had awoken in). I listened nervously as the footsteps rushed past, and into the room next door.
I inhaled deeply, and began to sprint across the hallway, making my way to a pot plant next to the rails that surrounded the balcony. I hid behind the pot until I saw a pair of feet walk past, back down the corridor.
I sighed in relief, walking towards the stair case. I stood near the edge of the top step, looking down at all of the other steps that I must climb down. I began to climb down the steps, making sure not to sleep.
I made it onto the third step from the top, when I had to stop. A cold breeze had flown over me, making me shiver and my breath turn into steam. I heard the front door close; footsteps making their way up the staircase.
A giant, wrinkly, man was climbing the stairs. He wore a suit and tie. I couldn't see his face, as he was looking down and a fedora was blocking his face.
Panicking, I tried to hide. My attempt failed, as I felt my feet leave the floor, and a tight, yet gentle, hand wrap around my body. I struggled, trying to set myself free. The man brought me up close to his face. A face that looked as though he was wearing a mask. He breathed heavily, like he was having trouble breathing.
I was blasted with warm, smelly, air. He was screaming at me. When he stopped screaming, he stomped down the stairs and into the kitchen. He grabbed a jar, shoving me in, he grabbed a lid, and screwed it on tight.
My heart felt as though it were in my throat, and my breathing was quick and shallow. I was losing oxygen, fast.
The man went over to the sink, plugged the drain, and turned on the water.
Beads of sweat formed on my face. I looked for possible ways out, then it hit me. The man had placed the jar next to the edge of the counter.
I moved to the opposite side of the jar, and ran as fast as I can to the other side. The jar began to rock. I moved with it, making sure it fell off the counter.
The jar toppled over, falling to the ground. It hit the ground with force, causing me to cut myself, as well as hit my head.
The man whipped his head around, his face showing no emotion.
I stood up, wobbling a little. I ran past the broken glass, making my way to the front door.
I could hear the man's loud steps behind me. He was gaining on me. I knew I would not be able to reach the front door with him chasing me.
With this knowledge, I made a sharp right, causing the man to slip over.
I ran into the living room. The man started crawling toward me.
To my right, was the staircase. Under the staircase, was the closet; the door left ajar. I sprinted to the door, hoping to find some sort of hiding place there.
I entered and quickly hid under a shelf which was next to the basement stairs.
The man burst through the door, panting and grunting. He turned on the light to the basement, storming down the steps.
I silently made my way to the closet door. Squeezing through the small gap between the wall and the door, I sighed in relief.
I jogged over to one of the couches in the room, hiding underneath it. There was a lot of things under the couch. I couldn't make them out in the dim lighting.
I felt another cold breeze sweep over me. Another person had entered the house. I poked my head out from under the couch to see who it was.
A horribly obese girl had entered. She wore an ugly pink dress, with an equally ugly bag. The girl also look like she was wearing a mask, however, unlike the man, she had strange, black goo, coming from her nose.
I gagged at the sight of her.
She began to walk up the stairs; every step she took made the ground vibrate slightly.
I heard another pair of footsteps. These steps were coming from the closet. I knew the man had given up on searching for me. I saw him open the door, and returned to what he was doing previously. Climbing the steps.
I felt extremely tired after all the running. I yawned, and laid down on the cold, soft carpet. My eyes closed almost instantly, and I was asleep again.
(Sorry the beginning of the story is really bad ><)
