Whether it is a kidnapping, a beating, a theft, or something else, what does your character do about it? Do they get hurt? Do the stop the act successfully? Did they misread the situation?
It was late afternoon when I finally got done with my job. The sun was just barely beginning to set. In my hand I held a bat, while my free hand gripped my bags strap. It was tough working random jobs simply to earn a living, but I'd managed so far.
As I was making my way to my rickety apartment, I caught a faint sound. Pausing, I looked around quietly, what was that I just heard? Suddenly I heard a clatter of trashcans on the alley way up ahead on my right. Warily, I slowly made my way over and peered around a corner.
A pretty girl was getting jumped by two men, one holding her bag and the other trying to pry her away from it. With a growl, my grip on my bat tightened. Just as they yanked her bag out her grip, I charged into the alley way.
WHACK
WHAM
THUMP
I nailed the first man with a hit to his jaw, then to his knee. He fell to the ground with a shout of pain. Slamming my bat into his back, I turned my glare on his friend. The dude looked pretty mad. He had the nerve to charge at me.
TWACK
All it took was one hit.
After I had nailed him in the groin and taken back the girls bag, I managed to chase them off by swinging my bat wildly. After I was sure they were gone, I adjusted my bags strap and looked at the girl.
"You good?"
She stared at me as if I was an angel or something- well, more like a deer caught in headlights. Ha, me, and angel. I was a girl wearing a bandanna around my forehead, tattered hoodie, worn jeans, worn out boots, and carrying a bat. On top of that, I'd just beaten the daylights out of two men. I wasn't about to blame her for looking at me like that.
"I'm fine now, thanks to you."
She had the voice of an angel. I nodded and looked towards the alley opening. I'd had my fair share of beating some dudes up for the day, and now I just wanted to get to my lumpy mattress. It was better than standing around awkwardly. Specially' cause' she kept staring.
As I made my way out the alley and down the sidewalk, I heard the sound of her shoes hitting the ground after me. It wasn't long after that I felt her grab my bicep and halt my steps.
"Wait-Wait! I just wanted to, um, repay you?"
Lord, she was prettier up close. I looked away from her wide brown eyes framed by her curly black hair, and down at her manicured hand.
"You don't need to do anything, just get safe-"
"I insist that you let me treat you to dinner."
Taken aback by her bold statement, I met her gaze in shock. I couldn't help but notice that she dark freckles against her already beautiful dark skin tone. Lord give me strength.
"I- what?"
"I'll take you right now. There's a restaurant not to far from here, come on. I'm Danielle by the way."
"...Jen."
Who knew that kicking some robbers butts would get me a girlfriend? I was just helping her out. After all, I hate dudes that attack some girl.

Hello my darlings,
I apologize for my poor writing. This is the first time I've ever written anything on this site, and I haven't had much experience before either. If you have read and enjoyed this, I thank you.
Meanwhile, let me grace you with a prompt. I apologize for my horrendous writing, as well for forgetting to leave a prompt. Here you are my darlings,
Prompt:
From within the shadows it stared, boney claws outstretched towards you. Its dead, yet piercing eyes fixated on you. It voice was like nails on chalkboard, rasping out a single word."Come."
Until next time,
