A Poor Man's Meal

Post by Real »

Let's start with the ingredients used:
- 1 very bored magi with a carving problem
- 1 very sharp knife
- sacrificial ingredients with include: potatoes, oil, salt, cheese and paprika powder

The meal itself? Something very simple to make that warms your stomach during the cold months of the year. Now, you can easily make this on your own but you can also spend a good while trying to find a bored magi who'd be willing to carve something out of those potatoes. And who doesn't want that?
We all know that all magis at some point in their lives like to eat their meal shaped in different magical creatures, not because of the special taste but because they can enjoy breaking a wing or a tail, or slowly munch on a crispy potato head while thinking about all the pranks their beloved creatures pulled on them during the entire year.
It's a much healthier way of taking out your frustrations than yelling at your poor creature for doing something bad while it should've known better.
This, of course, if you find said bored magi who's willing to carve those creatures for you. Otherwise you have to do it on your own and get really annoyed because the shape of the creature is just Not right.

Without further ado, here's a short story of how a potato turned into something... else.
Spoiler
You start with a perfectly fine potato.

Then you make it go naked.

Slice the thing. It doesn't deserve better.

Now start carving. And you'd better hurry because you never know better to start cooking before you're actually really hungry.

Fry, fry, fry. Vegetable oil was used but something healthier than that is also an option.

Add some grated cheese for flavor and decoration?

Let it melt a little then add some paprika powder, salt and other teeny-tiny ground spices for taste.
It should be mentioned that somewhere along the way the adults ate the hatchie. No one really knows how it happened.
The result?
We're eating meowls.
