Some critique please? (pixel art)

Hi there! so I wanted to draw my favorite creature on here - the Northern Light Fox!
and due to seeing the limitations of pixels for making an avatar, I decided to make a first attempt at pixelart-
I used the original sprite by GlassWalker (according to the wiki) as a reference for colours and the snout (since I was struggling with it way too much o-o) also would it be alright to use the drawing as Avatar? would I have to credit GlassWalker for the original sprite in my profile then? o3o

Anyway here's the drawing!

I really like how you've done with the colours and details of the stars and such. You really get the vibe of the Northern Lights in this art. If anything it's a little hard to see if the tail is made of fur or not. The detailing among the edges of the tail do make that clear, but the tail as a whole do get a slightly flat vibe. The actual shading of the tail is very nice however. The background, even if it's quite simple, and the lighter details really gives it a glowing look which is very nice looking.
