So. If you are having errors and the site is slow for you, DO NOT LOG OUT OR CLEAR YOUR CACHE. I just spent about three hours trying to get logged back in because the page would never load (and more than 30 minutes just trying to post this now). I did see the 502 error a few times, but usually the page loading icon in the tab would just spin and spin and eventually stop without anything changing on the page at all. Do not make my mistakes, do not be me.

Edit: After for trying for almost an hour, I can say with confidence that this site is so slow as to no longer be usable. </3

Heya, also want to report pretty massives lags- each load ist taking up to 2 minutes was the worst now- and a couple of Bad Gateways.
I cross my fingers that the the issue, if it's not Gold Mining, will be found soon.

I literally cannot give any gifts without getting that SQL Error page. I've given way more than 10 and have not gotten the badge. The lag is also quite bad. I had figured it was because of the event. It took almost a minute for this page to load. Sometimes it's fast, but it's not, it's very slow.

Edit: I was wrong. I just timed it, and it took a minute and a half. :C
Edit Edit: I just tried giving a gift in a different browser. Same error. I'll try doing it without a note and see if that fixes it...

What is the note you are putting when gifting? The error you're getting would indicate that something you're putting in the note isn't liked by the site, so I would need to know what note you're putting in to fix the error.

Clearing your own cache shouldn't affect the site load times. Most likely the site just lagged totally and it coincided with you clearing your cache.

I'm looking into the lag. Unfortunately it started, and happened during my night time so I wasn't here to deal it when it was happening. I will dig into the logs to see if I can pinpoint what was going on and how to prevent it in the future. For the moment everything seems to be running smoothly again. I'll be keeping an eye on things and if the lag starts again I can do something about it as it's going on.

With a quick look behind the scenes I didn't see any clear pointers to goldmining, but I will need to take a closer look. Another option that comes to mind is that the re-enabled trades may contribute to the lag, as I haven't had the chance to do a bigger overhaul on the trading system yet. In any case, I'll take a deeper look into the depths of the site and see what I can find.

Is there anything us players (especially us in fun timezones) can do to help report/investigate lag spikes? Such as recording the server load in a thread etc?

Question, for those of us with larger keeps (20K+), when will item use (gender change potion) be repaired.

I know it's not a high priority since, maybe only 10% max of the site users have that many creatures, but I'm one of them, and would really like to use my potions sometime soon.

Item use, trades, and embedding multiple things are all connected in a very deep base level, which has to do with how large of a keep someone has. Trades and embedding multiple have thus far been made even somewhat usable by limiting them only to the Main tab. I can do that kind of a fix for the item use quite easily as well.

Bigger repairs for all three of them require more work, and it's impossible to estimate at this moment just how long it will take.

I'll try to get the quick and dirty fix for item use out some time next week.

It was the usage of emojis that was causing the SQL Error. Once I stopped using any special characters, it seemed to work. Oddly enough, even " ♥ " is apparently not allowed.

As an aside, the lag has started for me. I'm only at a 15-second page load time at the moment, but this is how it started yesterday.

I'm on mobile, which might be the cause, but while I can mass move from main to a different tab, I can move select creatures from a different tab back to main.

If it is not a bug and a currently turned off feature, please ignore me.
Also make sure to take breaks every now and then, the mental health of people is more important than the site.
