What makes you happy

Going to my senior rehab exercise class. It's nice to see smiling faces and have people say "Hi" to me after over 2 years of near-total social isolation. I isolated with COVID, too, which means it's been more like 4 years, really. I didn't realize how much I missed people until now. I've been terribly lonely and didn't even know it. I had a whole year of poor health with multiple procedures that kept me out of action, then I spent a year trying to get strong enough to go out and do things again. Then I stumbled upon this program and everyone is in the same sort of boat. Not going places because they don't know how far they have to walk to get into the place, to get to the first place to sit, ARE there places to sit spaced throughout the area, etc. Getting groceries delivered because we can't physically walk that far or stand that long or get the groceries up the porch steps at the house. My friends all moved away to cheaper places while I was busy being sick, so I've just been watching TV and on the internet since the start of 2022 until now. Now I have people who call me by name, ask how I'm doing today, joke along with me about how much "torture" this class is. I'm so happy I cry after every class in thankfulness for having people know I exist.

I like hanging out with my friends and smoking with them but I haven't seen any of them in years or any of my family and I've been alone since a while back and I'm trying to do something to be social again. I liked being happy, I hung out with them literally everyday and now nothing. Crazy how fast things change. All I have is my old cat and vPets and I love them very much!

Working on the fic collabs I've got going on right now, seeing (and patting!) friendly doggos, that video with the wooden shrimp jazz band toy playing a weird synthy version of what I think is the cantina song from Star Wars.... lemme see if I can find it so y'all can check my knowledge (and hopefully be as amused as I am by this daft little thing).

i always love watching videos of baby animals (especially baby rabbits, as rabbits are my favorite. the rise and fall of their noses soothes me, and i love their nonexpressive faces)

i love sunny days with clear skies where i am! summer is pleasant and not overbearingly hot here. especially at the time of the year when the sun only begins to set at 9:00pm.

i love halloween so much and the month of october (even september). preparing for festivities, listening to my favorite music and eating my favorite foods in fall is wonderful

Nature, being bale to stand on a path near a secluded lake or hiking in the mountains. Just the sheer beauty of it all

Bird watching, crocheting, British detective shows, old movie musicals, sitting on my dock with the water splashing and the occasional dolphin or manatee cruising by, visiting my family, listening to music of all kinds from before I was born (in the 1960s) till now.
