I just thought this may be a nice place for the GLBT and supporters community on Magistream to talk about anything, GLBT-related or not, and feel comfortable around people who will understand.

No Explicit Sexual Content

This is the banning of depictions or references to the reproductive organs; Cybering; or other sexual acts. Role Playing may be somewhat seductive in nature, but all content should be age appropriate. If it is not something you would do in front of your grandparents, then it’s probably not allowed.

I don't have any problems with other people's orientations (despite my spiritual convictions), I just don't like it when they get shoved down my throat. I just wanna slap people who are all "I am ____, hear me roar!" Of course, that goes for anything someone might get all up in my face about and try to demand I accept. I had a job previously that went way overboard on their diversity campaign. I just felt like, "yeah, we're all a little different. The world would be an extremely boring place if we were all the same, but you don't need to rub my nose in those differences! Can't we all just enjoy the fact that we're human and leave those differences at the door?"

I'm as straight as they come but homosexuality doesn't bother me in the slightest and I get VERY annoyed with people who disreguard it. Gay, bi or straight, we're all only human, right? It doesn't make us any less human to be true to ourselves.

I'll join. I'm pretty much straight/asexual, but I lost a good friend one time who was gay to tragic circumstances. I live in a homophobic family, but I've learned I don't have to think like them. =/

*wanders in* I'm slightly worried that this will attract conflict since... well, it is the internet, and as great as Magistream is, I'm sure there are at least a few homophobic members, and it is a topic that tends to cause arguments. Count me in, though.

...Oh, and can we possibly agree not to be too obsessive over the PCness? It's kind of confusing figuring out which of my friends I'm supposed to call gay, and which want to be lesbian, and which want to be referred to as "a girl who prefers other girls" and which want to be fill-in-the-blank-with-anything-possible. Nevermind getting two friends with different opinions in the same room. The words aren't the point; it's the ideas behind them, and I figure it's probably safe to assume anyone who joins here doesn't mean anything offensive.

I think that as long as we don't go around and yell which sexual orientation we are, we can have this guild (and what TNHawke said). Also, I don't expect someone to jump in and start insulting us.. However, I will ask Morgaln is it okay to have this on MagiStream. Isn't this just a group of people who have the same interests? Like the other guilds around here? *Shrugs*

I'm not sure what exactly did you mean by that.. And I don't think that someone who doesn't like this would join. Also, as far as I know, you can call both genders gay, but only females lesbian. *Shrugs*

*shrugs* I don't think that this isn't allowed, just that if there is a problem they're probably going to ask us to stop this before they try banning everyone involved. *shrugs* I don't think it's likely, but I think it's the only reason that there would be a problem with having this guild.

As to the PCness, I have some friends that are lesbian/gay that want to be called lesbian, and some that want to be called gay, and both of them think the other term is insulting because of its history. I think the arguments are that "gay" is used as an insult/is generally assumed to refer to guys, and "lesbian" is sexist because it's gender-specific. The arguments don't really make much sense to me, I just stick with trying to remember who I'm supposed to use what word around.

I don't know about that either.. In my language there is one other word that is insulting, but I think the word gay is okay.. Don't know about English though.. *Shrugs*
