Spoiler
Quite honestly, I say fuck the bible. There's a lot wrong in it that has been pointed out. And quite honestly, if 'God' loved us all, why would he want us to only love those of opposite gender, never commit any of the 7 sins, ect., instead of us being ourselves 100% and being happy?

Anyway, I'm not here to bitch about damn religion. I don't support any.
And I KNOW I will offend some people with this statement, which is why I spoilered it.

I vouch for this. I'm sure there are users on MagiStream who are gay, bi, straight, or any other weird sexuality. There's a lot of people in the world, and there has to be some on this site, that are afraid of them and believe they deserve death or whatever BS. We're all humans.

...Personally I am not Christian and therefore cannot support using God and the Bible as an argument, but as long as the end result is tolerance, I'm not going to argue about how we get there. (For those curious, since it is kind of an intertwined topic, I am part of a religion, but I doubt anyone here has heard of it, and it's pretty impossible to accurately explain, so I'm not going to try.) Religion is personal, and not the point of this thread, so regardless of what religious opinions may or may not lead to supporting it, if someone joins this I at least am not going to debate what basis they have for joining. ...And since I do tend to debate the subject a lot, full permission to anyone else to whack me and tell me to shut up if I do start to argue about it.

...Oh, and while I'm at it, I'll add asexual to the list. *shrugs* I'll end up mentioning it eventually anyway, may as well now.

Exactly..

Afraid?.. Like, really really scared or just pissed off?..

Kind of the opposite of Pan. Asexual usually means you're not attracted to anyone or anything, male or female. Alternatively it can be applied to animals that reproduce by budding, but whatever. [/Animal nerd]
:tard:

I can probably be called that, because I've never felt attracted to anyone in my life, mostly due to my human issues in general. I never even had kiddie crushes or anything, but that could just be because I haven't met anyone yet. I think if I was interested in someone it would be a guy. I don't even get along with girls my age in normal social situations, so I can't see myself in a relationship with one.

*coughs**laughing* Um, yeah. No budding here, but appearance/physical/sexual stuff kind of tends to go completely over my head. *thinking* Simplest explanation I've found so far is that I'm just kind of neutral to the whole thing. *shrugs* There's a lot more explanation and details and misconceptions, but unless someone wants to know I'm not going to go into it, except that there are a whole range of degrees and differences that all get called asexual, so even if two people are both asexual their opinions and preferences can still be completely different.

I mostly get along with girls my age... there are a few guys that I get along with, but they tend to either be related to me, be gay, or live on a different continent. So it's kind of impractical.

o.0 I thought this topic died out a bit, and I was also a bit scared after making it, but it seems alright.

Anyway, this isn't really a topic to discuss religion, and it could offend some. Besides, religion is a theory, however, like race, homosexuality is a matter of birth, genetics, and psychology, and therefore discriminating against it is equivalent to racism, sexism, and all other prejudices - that's just logic.

However, whatever the case, there are some challenges. I just recently told my mom that I have a girlfriend, and she says she accepts it, but doesn't want me to be open about it, which makes sense. In highschool, boys and girls can kiss in the hallways, but theres opposition if same-sex couples do the same.

So, some topics for discussion -
Do you participate in Day of Silence?
Do you take offense to various words used to define homosexuality? Some people think the word fag is offensive it seems, while others don't, and some also feel the same about the word queer. Or, what about when people say 'Thats so gay' about something they don't like, how do people feel about that?

No Explicit Sexual Content

This is the banning of depictions or references to the reproductive organs; Cybering; or other sexual acts. Role Playing may be somewhat seductive in nature, but all content should be age appropriate. If it is not something you would do in front of your grandparents, then it’s probably not allowed.
I don't have any problems with other people's orientations (despite my spiritual convictions), I just don't like it when they get shoved down my throat. I just wanna slap people who are all "I am ____, hear me roar!" Of course, that goes for anything someone might get all up in my face about and try to demand I accept. I had a job previously that went way overboard on their diversity campaign. I just felt like, "yeah, we're all a little different. The world would be an extremely boring place if we were all the same, but you don't need to rub my nose in those differences! Can't we all just enjoy the fact that we're human and leave those differences at the door?"
Hawke has the best statement about this I've ever seen. I try to say this myself to people and they get offended. But... it seems like folks only want to ram their sexuality down my throat all the time. >_> Of course I'm going to get annoyed. especially when they attack my ways of life, saying 'straight is black and white, which is boring and dull...' etc.

Anyway.

I wish boys and girls didn't kiss in the halls, either. I don't care for any public displays of affection, although I'll be frank: if I saw two women kissing it would seriously make me throw up. Because that's me. But I'm equal - I don't wanna see anything. A peck on the cheek, fine, but downright snogging in public is disgusting no matter who is doing it.

No day of silence for me. I think all that is BS. The only thing I participate in is Poop for Peace Day! ...because there's no way not to participate xDDD LOL

I don't care two figs about words. :3 Someone can call me a wop, it's what I am. So I use the word 'gay/that's so gay' in my speech all the time, as well as 'retarded'. It's not meant maliciously. It's just language. People are too politically correct nowadays, too touchy. Words don't (and shouldn't) hurt as much as actions do. We need to get thicker skins; we're all getting wimpier and crying at the drop of a hat nowadays!

I don't know what's Day of Silence.

I don't respond if people call me by the offensive word.. And I just shrug when they say "That's so gay".

Day of Silence is a day in which supporters of LGBT rights remain silent to illustrate the silence felt by those who are afraid of what will happen if they are open about their sexuality. Its understandable, of course, given that there have been murders over the issue. http://www.dayofsilence.org/index.cfm

Horrible thing, it seems the world is going in reverse in terms of morals. In Uganda, they're working to pass a bill that makes homosexuality punishable by death or imprisonment. They did this after some Evangelical priests from the US went there to preach against homosexuality. Now people there are basically being blacklisted. It's like a damn witch-hunt. Makes no sense.

Honestly, its sometimes sad. Homosexuality is just as acceptable as heterosexuality. It doesn't hurt anyone either. Homophobia hurts people.
