Re: The Magistream Scribes
if you are still looking for a more elegant job title for GamingGal, how about "amanuensis" ? it's about ten steps past "right-hand-man/girl"...closer to "would be hopelessly messed up without them, they know/do EVERYTHING".
i have been writing, primarily poetry (classical and free verse) and lyrics, but a certain amount of fiction and nonfiction as well, semi-professionally for many years - plus i have taught both English and Creative Writing. i had entered your current poetry contest before i got this far, but once it has concluded, tell me what (if anything, of course) you'd like from me.

Re: The Magistream Scribes
Anyone else entering Shai's contest? I just posted mine today in the entry thread, it was the first thing I've finished in a long time (and possibly the longest thing, ending up at 52 pages).

Re: The Magistream Scribes
I considered it, then decided not to. I'm not much for building off a pre-made story :/

Re: The Magistream Scribes (Listing contests)
I'm working on an entry. Of course, I'm working on any number of other things and have ten hours until the contest is over, so it may or may not be finished....
Aside from that, WE HAVE OUR SCRIBES LINEAGE! Dream and Blue Gem finally got around to cooperating. I suspect this will be an extremely slow-growing lineage, but it does now exist.
Also, we (mostly GamingGal) are running a poetry contest. We still need judges and entries. I'm going to PM everyone who joined as a beta for poetry about it, but for anyone who sees this first/didn't join as a poetry beta and is still interested in judging, let either GamingGal or I know. (If you're interested in entering, link's in the first post.)

Re: The Magistream Scribes (Listing contests)
Okay, I'm still kinda new(as in never done anything before here) so how does this work. Does someone post and someone corrects the English on the story?
Re: The Magistream Scribes (Listing contests)
Well, you'd have to post it in the Tea House, but if you then post the link here to ask for critiques, people here will look at it to correct English, and anything else they can find (unless you ask for critiques to be limited to some specific aspect). But we're also running writing contests, and working on a writing mentorship program.
Re: The Magistream Scribes (Listing contests)
Hii, sorry I was away for a bit. My darn writers block won't let me write anything for the poetry contest, so I'd be happy to help judge.
Also, big news; I won my librarys writing contest x3 350 people entered and I'm pretty psyched because I just typed up that story within 3 hours. I'm just pretty ecstatic.
Also, that is an awesome lineage BlackParadox. x3

Re: The Magistream Scribes (Listing contests)
Yay for judging Adding you to our meager list
And, you won? Dang, that's quite awesome I've won a couple school-wide poetry contests myself. But kudos to you! I've never won a huge contest like that
And that lineage took forever First we had to complete the pair, then get them to actually breed. Stubborn little things, they are.

Re: The Magistream Scribes (Listing contests)
Congrats on winning your competition! I've never actually entered any sort of real life writing competition, mainly because I've never come across any that I wanted to do.
I am all excited though, because I got first place (after the grand prize winner) in ShaiNeko's contest on here! It's the first thing I've really entered anywhere, and the first piece I've finished in a very long time. I didn't really have time to edit it, so it could definitely have used more work, but I was rather pleased with all but the ending of it. It didn't turn out quite as planned mainly because there was originally going to be a second main character, but I'm all proud of myself for actually finishing something for pretty much the first time since elementary school.
