Re: Writers Guild {For non published writers}
Hmm...I'm not sure she told anything about the book, besides its title. But her other two took place the state I live in, the first being about a student from my city and high school, both revolving around troubled (somewhat) teens.
I'm sure this one would be a bit of a mystery. And somehow involve a girl walking her chihuahua (my part ) sometime in the book.
And good luck! I need to get started on the outline of the book I'm going to write for my Senior Project...ugh...I can't even decide on a plot, lol.

Sounds great ^^
Urgh...outlines. I hate em, but I need em sometimes. I'm quickly learning it's a bad idea to write a complicated plot with several viewpoints, aiming to tie them altogether eventually when you have no clue where it's heading. Never again.

Yeah...I'm currently working on a massive Invader Zim fanfic project, and I really do need an outline. It's not even my original idea, but the idea for the series finale which was never made.
If I want it to make sense...I need to plan ahead. I can't just wing it like I did my other fanfics, and even my current one. But the outline is currently going nowhere.

I'd like to read that. I haven't watched Invader Zim in awhile though
So how are you stuck? Just don't know what's going to happen next?

In school, I hate doing those stupid graphic organizers. They say that they help, but they're just time-wasters for me. When I have an idea, I HAVE an idea, and I don't need no stinkin organizer.

Pretty much, lol. That and I need to find a way to make everything seem in-character. Though, I may just add my own little twists.
And I did those organizers in Creative Writing a few times. They really did help me, especially since the ideas I had were just scattered thoughts.

Re: Writers Guild {For non published writers}
I don't do any sort of prewriting, except in the case of character profile type things. I always went back and did the required prewriting last in school, and just made it up. I would also fake the drafting process, write my final draft first and then mess it up to turn in as previous drafts. I edit as I go, so for most things I don't have any sort of real process. If I don't like what I wrote, I start over completely from scratch. If I tried to do outlines for a story, though, I would never get past that stage. I only do outlines for essays, and not always then, because they just don't really work for me.

I go through the whole story plots in my head and then let the story write itself. Works well for me.

Re: Writers Guild {For non published writers}
I find that if I don't know where the chapter is going to go, or how it'll fit into a series of events, then I pretty much lose interest in it. I still finish it, but it takes longer.
I currently have a fanfic like that, but it's to the point that it's actually falling into place. But I really do need an outline...
It's like writing parts of a puzzle

Sometimes they mess me up, like "Name three of your character's goals:"
Wtf? What if he doesn't have a goal?
I was trying to write a short story from a side characters point of view and the organizers don't help at all.
