Jongarakun's Joint (OPEN)
This will be your average adoptables shop. Here you can buy, name, describe, trade, breed, and go on quests with your pet. Feel free to do whatever you want with these little guys, as long as you provide a link back to me or give me credit.
A rickety old house whistles in the wind, a battered "Welcome" sign stabbed into its massive lawn, creaking every few minutes. The sounds of creatures of all sorts draws you, especially when you see a "For Sale" sign on the door. Knocking, a thick voice tells you to come in.
A hunched figure in the corner crouches over some food dishes, but you're preoccupied with the variety of creatures kept in walls of cages in front of you. On each cage there is a sign with their name and a bit about their species, along with their price.
"Luminous Rattlears - Male"
"Very recent species of Rattlear discovered, and the smallest yet, able to fit in your palm. Like their name would suggest, when they move they make a continuous rattling sound. Experts have yet to figure out why. It doesn't have scales, but it is instead covered in very thick, hardened, reflective skin. They mainly live in the ground and mainly eat insects."

"Luminous Rattlears - Female"
"Very recent species of Rattlear discovered, and the smallest yet, able to fit in your palm. Like their name would suggest, when they move they make a continuous rattling sound. Experts have yet to figure out why. It doesn't have scales, but it is instead covered in very thick, hardened, reflective skin. They mainly live in the ground and mainly eat insects."
"400 gold"
"Falts"
"Falts are thought to be highly powerful creatures. If you're kind to it, it will keep you company and rest its head against your shoulder. If you've done anything to make it turn against you, it will make your life hell. A falt with an unkind owner has often been behind ghost stories reported by neighbors. Its face is very wrinkled, and must be cleaned frequently. They have no pupils, and are very likely to be blind before they reach adulthood. An owner must be careful of its hooks at the end of its wings. They grow to five feet, sitting on their back legs."
"300 gold"
"Dabbits"
"Dabbits are very friendly, and very clean creatures. They have highly sensitive whiskers on their heads and horizontal pupils, but a terrible sense of smell. Dabbits are very social, and love wrapping around one another. When people first gave them grasses to eat, the dabbits refused to leave them alone and would wrap around their ankles. About as large as a fox, when in danger, they will produce a foul smell and curl up. If you try to uncurl them in this state, they will just curl up again."
"300 gold"
"Houseflies - Female"
"Why anyone would make a housefly (in this case, Musca Domestica) live for years but not increase its size is beyond me. I don't know much about these things, they came without papers. The females are bigger and their eyes are spaced apart more than the male's. They feed on dead or decaying material, and are normally pests. They can make charming pets, though. (Please do not purchase a flyswatter with these)"

"Rokurokubi Kitsunes"
"Living up to both legends, the rokurokubi kitsune is very sly and cunning, with a long, stretchy neck to boot. Unlike some versions of the legend of the rokurokubi, the rokurokubi kitsune always knows about its long neck, will freely use it while awake, and will eat anything, and anyone, that gets in its way. When not wanting to solve things with violence, the rokurokubi kitsune will instead opt for its cunning. The markings around its eyes, which make it look like the kitsune from Japanese woodblock prints, only strengthen its relation to both legends."
"500g"
"Chameleon Wolf"
"There have been stories of chameleon wolves for centuries. They get their name from their ability to fade into nothing. Some speculate that they can only blend in, others believe that they can truly turn invisible. Chameleon wolves are rarely kept as pets, largely because they are highly aggressive, and can wipe out an entire farmer's livestock in one night. They have been shipped around in the black market despite this."
"800g"
A large note is tacked beneath, written in red.
"DANGER! KEEP IN CAGE AT ALL TIMES"
"Cloud Weasels"
"Found only in a few select small villages on a chain of islands, cloud weasels are very rare, and very valuable. They have the ability to blow orange clouds out of the nostrils. If you breathe in the orange cloud, you will become very relaxed and creative. For that reason, famous artists love these animals. While they have small undeveloped wings on their backs, they do not fly with them, and instead float along. No one knows why they can do this. Though not actual weasels, when the village people first found them, they thought that they were the cousins of the kamaitachis lurking about. There is no relation."
Retired.
"Yurmies"
"Yurmies grow to be very large, and will eat nearly anything, but don't let this intimidate you. They're very intelligent and talkative, and have been trained to speak certain phrases and words. They love to swing from things, and hold on to branches and such.
"There is a large debate over this, but most people agree that, yes, they are closely related to us. Yurmies have fur over their faces, wearing it like a mask, for when they want to intimidate someone, they lift the mask and screech. For reasons people still haven't figured out, they have short tibulas and fibulas, but long femurs."

Re: Jongarakun's Joint
List of rules:
1. Send me the gold when you want to breed, or buy a creature, and I'll add your creatures as soon as it is complete.
2. To name a creature, just post its name and which one you want to be named.
3. Breeding works the same way. Just post which two you want to breed and I'll hop to it.
4. You can suggest the next creature, if you want, or a quest. It might not be accepted, but I'll certainly give it some thought.
5. You can totally:
(a) Buy creatures for other people.
(b) Ask me to organize your chart according to things like names, 1st gen, etc.
(c) Describe your creatures! Just PM me the description, along with the creature in question, or post it here, and I'll add it.
(d) Freeze your baby or egg, just tell me which creature to keep in that stage and I will freeze it A.S.A.P.
(e) And other junk! Just ask me in this thread and I'll try to give you as best of an answer as possible.
Everyone on the gold list gets half off all creatures. Black list is not allowed to post.

Re: Jongarakun's Joint
To breed a creature, you must specify which two are to breed and send me the gold. It costs 1000 gold to breed any two creatures. There is a rare chance of an albino with breedings between certain species. For now, the only creatures capable of breeding are those in their own species. Please note that you have a chance of getting more than one offspring with each breeding.
After they've bred, they cannot breed again for two days.
Possible Pairs:
Dabbit x Dabbit*
Luminous Rattlear x Luminous Rattlear
Falt x Falt
Housefly x Housefly
Rokurokubi Kitsune x Rokurokubi Kitsune*
Cloud Weasel x Cloud Weasel~
Yurmie x Yurmie
Species with possible albinos have been marked with an asterisk (*).
Species that are part of a limited breed edition have been marked with a ~ and therefore have a low chance of producing anything.
Hybrids will become possible in the future.

Quest One: Yurnies
If yes, please post "Yesrat.avi" in this thread, and I will PM you with the second part of the quest. Your falt egg will also be removed from your chart. You can only complete a quest once.
The falt egg needs to be bred.
People who have finished the quest thus far:

My head against the side, I continue to stare out, not really paying attention. As I start to close my eyes, the carriage hits a bump, and my head smacks the ceiling. Riding on this carriage for two days. Thankfully, the trip is almost over. The driver is completely silent, which is nice, considering that my last driver refused to shut up. Looking back outside, mainly out of boredom, I see the rickety old house with a "welcome" sign on the lawn. Going up the path is a very tall, severe figure with a prominent fedora. In his hand is a fairly large cage, holding a few animals clinging from the top bars. I've never seen that type of animal before. Tired of the confines of the carriage, I lean forward and say, "Let me out here."
The driver doesn't even bother to ask why and pulls back his reins. Stepping off before it's completely stopped, I hold my single bag in one hand and run up the path after the man. I'm close enough to the city, anyway, it's hardly an inconvenience. The man is going rather slowly, and has stopped to adjust the cage. Able to reach him in a few minutes, I straighten myself and call out a hello.
He looks up, but besides that, he continues to work with the cage. He starts to hurry back up the path, so I say in a raised voice, "What are those things? Are you selling them?"
He stops running, and sort of halfway turns to me. The hand that isn't holding the cage is jammed in the pocket of his business suit. Sort of nodding his head, he says, "I'm going to sell them to the woman that owns this house, yes. You probably wouldn't know what these are."
Pulling his hat down lower over his eyes and heading back down the path, he tries to hurry, but I've already caught up with him. Ignoring the powerful cologne the man has on, I lean over to see the creatures in the cage. I say, "Try me. What are they called?"
The creatures inside the cage are highly nervous. Their faces are completely furry, their small, black eyes hardly visible. Their ears twitch, and they swing back and forth with their long, skinny arms and legs. Despite how thin the rest of them looks, they have huge, round bellies, which mildly reminds me of a hyena, or a dog with worms. The three in the cage are barely fitting, one crammed into the corner, biting its toes. The man says, "Yurnies. They're from the forest about fifty miles south of here."
I vaguely remember passing the forest, and look back down at them. I say, "Do you have any that you could possibly sell me now?"
He shakes his head, almost too hurriedly. Adjusting his collar, he knocks his head up a little, and I finally get a good glimpse of his face. It's very round and covered with red blotches, two tiny blue eyes looking around. His nose is slightly turned up, and I can see that he nicked himself shaving earlier. Tufts of blonde hair peek out around his ears, but other than that, it's all completely obscured by the black hat.
Noting the man's sweating palms, I say, gesturing to the cage a little, "I would really like one... I wouldn't let her know."
The man almost puts his hand in his pocket, but decides against it and lets it dangle at his side. He coughs. "Well, I guess I could part with one..."
"Oh, good." I start to reach for my bag of gold. He says, "No, I have enough gold. I would like a falt egg, though. Would you happen to have one on hand?"

If yes, please post "Yesrat.avi" in this thread, and I will PM you with the second part of the quest. Your falt egg will also be removed from your chart. You can only complete a quest once.
The falt egg needs to be bred.
