take a word
I'm sorry if there is already a topic like this one but I didn't see one. So the game is you write a poem about one letter of the poem before you so for example
person one
fire burning hot
ice burning cold
person two writes about ice
ice
water
and streams
all can kill
all the same
then person three writes about water
water in a chilly stream
in the brook
and over the creek
and so on
I'll go first
I'm writing about blood
The girl looked into his eyes
one last time
his knife was still in her side
one last time
she clutched the mortal wound
one last time
she looked and saw the blood
one last time
she looked a question at him
one last time
she couldn't speak but words were heard
one last time
she asked him why
one last time
then she laid down and died
one last time

white
the color of pale sand
a diamond in a ring
a pearl in a shell
a fluffy cloud high in the sky

Ring
Symbolic values molded into nature
A metaphor for some in-explainable feeling
Or a grave for memories, may they slowly fade
from the life of the wearer.
Spoken and unspoken words
woven into the material,
Haunting
The ghosts of people present and past
Walking out of his or her life
As easily as they change clothes.
A whisper or a plea to retain the love
so to resolve problems that may arise in
the future,
A dim hope that romantic or platonic feeling
will secure the thread winding through life.

Re: take a word
love
going back to the cabin in the woods
going back the creek behind the hill
theres was girl that lived there when I left
but I don't think she is there still
going back to my love if shes still there
going back to the peasant girl
she waved me off when I left
but she won't be here to welcome me home

Re: take a word
creek
clear and bright
chilly and refreshing
rocks and pebbles clearly seen
in the shade of a willow tree

Willow
The barren branches,
drooping with sorrow,
a weeping tree,
no one questions,
why the willow cries.
