Greetings, students, teachers, and visitors to the Keep. Master Belmos' voice carries over the crowd that is assembled in the gardens, and as he speaks pink petals from spring blooms drift lazily around the platform. Behind him, Talyn sits in a wooden chair, a grin on his face, and a hellhound sits by his feet, periodically snapping at the drifting flowers. Talyn's familiar frog lies motionless on his shoulder.
As I am sure everyone is aware, Master Belmos continues, recently one of our newly graduated students, Talyn, took it upon himself to organize an...expedition of sorts. He claimed--
"Claimed nothing!" Talyn leaps up from his seat at that, his hellhound barking twice. Talyn's frog blinks. "I did it! You all gave me your funding, and I super appreciate it, and now we have something super amazing. The world's way bigger than what the lame books in the Keep say. And now I got proof!"
Yes, Talyn, Master Belmos says, his normally calm voice carrying the slightest edge. I was just about to announce--
"If anyone wants to see the world, now we got a map, and it's a map of the whole world, not just the lands around here," Talyn says. "And I'm getting out of here as soon as I can to explore it." He pulls a rolled up paper from his pocket, and holds it up, the string that kept it tied falling to the ground. "Check it out! I told you all it would be worth it!"
