The water off the coast of the Candle Archipelagos is crystal clear and smooth like glass when the wind is calm. The sand seems to glow at night from the polyps of tiny jellyfish and clusters of glowing bacteria, and occasionally turtles and other island creatures can be seen resting on the beach. The people of Somni use the beaches as major roadways, docks, and open spaces for parties and celebrations.
