The Arkene is a harsh, inhospitable land. On calm, clear days like this, when the storms stop and the sun shines above the horizon, it is truly a welcome respite. For those seeking the Whitestone at its coldest, northernmost point, it is cause to pause and give thanks to whichever deity they worship. Few magi who seek the Whitestone return successful. Some never return at all. But that doesn't keep the boldest few from trying, every year.
