This journey we took
I thought it would last
But it slipped out of the daylight
Out of my grasp
Sure, it was long
As I trekked across the seas
But my head was in the clouds
With the birds and the bees
Time passes me by
Not saying hello
Was it up for a chat?
Whew, I wouldn't know
That's the problem with holidays
Great trips and adventures
They go quite fast
Like a pair of old dentures
I try to stop
And gaze upon the stars
And listen to the rain
But I can't go that far
These days we look back
Try to visit our memories
But we spot only as much
As one or two trees
We never remember
The gaze we had cast
Once we get the pain in our chests
Why couldn't it last?
Last
