Egg Description: Only bones are visible inside this floating, translucent egg...
Hatchling Description: Unlike other young whales, Bake-kujira hatchlings don't stay with their parents very long. In fact, they become independent immediately after hatching, and, even when they reach adulthood, they remain alone instead of forming pods. Another thing that sets these hatchlings apart from others are their eerie sounds. Instead of singing mournful songs, these creatures scream, shriek, and laugh cruelly.
Adult Description: Adult Bake-kujira can reach up to 60 feet long, but they float effortlessly on top of the waves and through the clouds, as if they weigh nothing. These whales are solitary and only come together to mate, and they separate soon after. Their eggs are then laid and promptly abandoned, left to fend for themselves. Tame Bake-kujira do not stay with their magi but instead wander the world, returning only when called. The specific nature of their magic is unknown, but all magi know that inexplicable events occur whenever there's a Bake-kujira nearby. Many fascinated magi have dedicated their lives to studying these behemoths, along with the mysterious, undocumented fish and birds that always seem to surround them.
General Description: Bake-kujira are hybrids of Aurora Whales and Osseo Arachnids. The parent species vary greatly in size and so cannot mate without the aid of a magi. Dark magic is used to create the haunting hybrids. Bake-kujira are feared by coastal villagers, but especially by fishermen who have encountered the strange creatures, and it's no wonder why. The large whales are able to swim through the seas and soar through the skies, but their appearance is quite startling. They have no skin or muscle, just bones, held together by spectral magic. They are believed by non-magical folks to be the vengeful ghosts of whales killed for their meat and oil, and supposedly they lay curses upon any who even glimpse them. These curses are said to range from plague to famine to fire, and countless other disasters, but magi know there is no evidence to support these claims. Instead, Bake-kujira behave rather gently, and it is their magi who have turned to darkness who actually lay curses on the unsuspecting.

Re: Bake-kujira (Ghost Whale)
This is honestly one of the most original entries. Great idea and great connections to existing folklore. Especially cool that you point out it's dark magi, not dark creatures, that are evil!
