~Forbidden Love (Chupacabra X Yale)~

Post by Blindstar97 »

Chupacabra and either Mountain, Alpine, or Hill yale
AKA the Chupayale.

Each type of Yale = different variant of Chupayale (Alpine yale = Alpine Chupayale)

General:
When the nomadic tribes of the Alasre Mountains come to trade, they bring with them the legend of a strange creature that lives where the mountains meet the forest, and has a long, echoing bleat that sounds almost like a growl. The nomads will claim that this mysterious beast feeds on "the blood of mortal men" and stalks other creatures in the night. This beast is called the Chupayale, and it is believed to be half yale and half chupacabra. No such creature has ever been found naturally in the wild, however a group of eccentrics have dedicated themselves to creating a hybrid that matches this description. This has led to the creation of the Chupayale that is seen today, an agile, daring creature that is known for its strange lack of an appetite. Chupayales are very odd looking, even for a magical creature, with their weasel faces, goat eyes, and thickly quilled backs and tails. Their back legs have all the grace and agility of a yale, and their front paws are strong and sturdy like a chupacabra's. They also have incredibly strong jaws and horns, making them a useful companion and formidable opponent.

Egg:
A spiked tail pokes out of this egg.

Hatchling:
These gangly, awkward hatchlings are quite a sight to see in the Keep, with their mismatched legs and their bizarre way of bleating. It takes some time for these strange creatures to grow into their bodies, and in the meantime their caretakers must be careful to make sure they don't collide into others, for these little hatchlings can cause a lot of damage with their quilled backs and tails. The one benefit to Chupayale hatchlings is that they don't eat everything in sight like their yale parents, instead preferring to only eat a few handfuls of meat once a day.

Adult:
By the time Chupayales reach adulthood, they have become graceful, stalwart companions ready for any obstacle in their way. The Chupayale takes all the best traits of its parents, like strength and agility, and does away with the less desirable traits, like eating anything they can get into. In fact, adult Chupayales are never seen eating at all, and when they do need to feed they will go off on their own once a month, returning to their magi the following day. No one has discovered where the Chupayales go to feed, nor what they feed on, but some have speculated that they drink the blood of sleeping humans. This, however, is just an unproven rumor. Still, an adult Chupayale is a great companion to bring on long, mountainous adventures.

And I know we aren't required to have drawn pictures, but I do have some (poor) concept art if you want to get a better picture of the Chupayale, alpine variant:
