Koi Fish and either Black or White Winged Cat
AKA The... well, the flying catfish. I don't think we have those, right?
Two variants depending on the cat parent, white or black (swirled is a bit weird since it's an item exclusive, so it will be ignored). Basically, take a koi, put a cat's head on it, give it half feathered, half finned wings, and you have yourself a flying catfish of either variant.
I've also decided to include a fun bonus stat for the flying catfish, since real catfish can vary in size, depending on where they live. This means flying catfish can be either the size of a hand or the size of a leg!
Bonus: Length
General
Flying catfish are a sight to see in the summer months, leaping high above the waters of Lake Lakira and soaring for a short distance in the air. These creatures are a boon for any magi who works closely with water and water creatures, as no matter what size or weight something is, a flying catfish can grab and pull it through the water. Flying catfish also vary in size, ranging from the small to the incredibly large. Every year, the Keep holds a festival celebrating the flying catfish, having contests to see who has the longest creature and whose flying catfish can soar the farthest.
Egg
This [white/black] egg has tiny scales.
Hatchling
Since the day it hatched, you've had trouble keeping your flying catfish in its tank. It's too small to swim with other members of its species, but it is still just as strong as an adult. At times, you'll notice cracks beginning to form on the tank, from where the hatchling has butted against to test its strength. It also has the tendency to leap out from its tank to see how far it can soar, causing you and many other magi a great amount of stress.
Adult
Once a flying catfish has reached adulthood, it is introduced into the waters of Lake Lakira. Watching its shiny [white/black] scales shine as it leaps and soars, you are amazed at the graceful creature your hatchling has grown into. Adults spend most of their time searching the bottom of the lake for tasty morsels to eat, occasionally leaping with others to test their soaring abilities. It has long been considered a sign of luck to see a large school of flying catfish leap and soar towards the rising or setting sun.
