Spoiler
This star-patterned egg has a dolphin-like tail curled around it.

Spoiler
When the weather is warm, young Celestial Cercis spend most of their time resting indoors with their magi, but as soon as the air cools, they become highly energetic and enjoy the company of both hooved and finned creatures alike. At this time, they can be seen practicing their magic on Lake Lakira, making the ice in a small radius around themselves become clear as glass. While this is used to initiate play with any aquatic companions that choose to stay under the ice in the winter, it is a skill that these creatures will completely master by the time they are adults.
Adult:
Spoiler
Fully grown Celestial Cercis disappear from the Keep during the spring and summer and return during the fall and winter. When the air is warm, these companions take off into the sky and are thought to follow the currents where temperatures are more to their liking. These companions seem to not feel the effects of cold, and are popular with magi who work out in frigid seas. During rescue missions in these locations, the Celestial Cercis may carry a passenger through the air over many miles without tiring. While typically reliable, these companions disappear completely when the aurora borealis is visible in the sky and reappear around frozen lakes in the morning.
General:
Spoiler
In the wild, these creatures are typically found in the far north around mountain lakes in the winter. They form herds that inhabit the area around a single lake, the size of which determines the size of the herd. During nighttime astronomical events such as meteor showers or lunar eclipses, these herds will gather in the center of their lake and use their magic to give the ice mirror-like qualities. Tame Celestial Cercis join their wild counterparts when the aurora borealis can be seen to perform this ritual. Few magi have witnessed this particular ritual, but those who have claim that strange shapes can be seen among the ribbons of light reflected in the ice.
