Monstrous Poems
Constructive criticism welcomed.
"He Sought A Queen"
A lonely Prince
Spent many years
Searching for True Love
A sigh he gave
A thought most grave
Addressed the stars above
"No Prince is true
Without a Queen!"
Was his most forlorn cry
"So as there is no Love for me
No longer Prince am I!"
Weeping softly through the night
He wandered
So alone
"Where does a man
Once was a Prince
Have for to make a home?"
He thought back to his childhood
A friend he once had
had
"There I will not be turned away"
Though thought made not him glad
For many long and weary nights
He sought his memories
And came at last
Upon the palace
Braced against the Seas
He stumbled to the Plainwood gate
And there he did intend
To beg upon the grace
Of his abandoned childhood friend
He knocked upon the gate so weakly
Surely no one knew
Yet there was one who had been list'ning
For guest long overdue
She drew him in
Into her warmth
Into her sweet embrace
"How I've missed you!"
She declared
"And longed to see your face!"
She wiped his tears gently away
"Surely those don't belong?"
And suddenly it dawned on him
"Forgive me! I was wrong!"
"I thought if I could find a Queen
To be the music to my song...
So blind was I
To not realize
My Love was a Princess all along!"

"Unimportant"
Would your life be any less,
if you lived it without me?
Would you know if I were gone,
Become a faded memory?
Would you miss the way I look,
the way I laugh and cry?
Or will there be no difference if I live or if I die?

Would you know if I were gone,
Become a faded memory?

Re: Monstrous Poems
You treat us badly,
vex us sore,
I cannot bear it anymore!
Your words are the honey of poisonous snakes,
you claim you will do whatever it takes.
Make it right, you declare,
but you never are there
when we need you.
vex us sore,
I cannot bear it anymore!
Your words are the honey of poisonous snakes,
you claim you will do whatever it takes.
Make it right, you declare,
but you never are there
when we need you.

Re: Monstrous Poems
These are great! I'm curious, why do you enjoy writing poems?
Re: Monstrous Poems
Thank you! Honestly, a lot of the time it's how I vent emotions, so it's sort of therapeutic I guess? And sometimes I can take a vague idea and make it clear with poetry. Or sometimes I'll see or do something, and it will make me feel something, but I can't express it with normal words, so I'll write a poem.Unfa wrote:These are great! I really don't much know what I'm doing, I've never had lessons or anything (Can you even have lessons for poetry?), but I love to read poems, and I love to write them.
And again, thank you, I'm glad you like them. I was a bit nervous of sharing.

Re: Monstrous Poems
Huh, that sounds a ton like NF, if you don't already you should go check out his music. I do a similar thing except I make music, I've never had lessons either, so my stuff isn't great, but I really enjoy it. I'm pretty sure in the average school there's some sort of poetry class, or I guess writing class of some sort.
So glad you love what you do! Keep it up, mate!

Yes, Mr. Miser,
hide your riches away
It will purchase for you
a fine gravestone someday

a fine gravestone someday
Re: Monstrous Poems
The ice wind blows
it's hollow tone
it chills me to
my very bone
the corpse I am
begins to groan
once living flesh
now turning stone
out in the ice winds
all alone
it's hollow tone
it chills me to
my very bone
the corpse I am
begins to groan
once living flesh
now turning stone
out in the ice winds
all alone
Re: Monstrous Poems
Death would be a welcome freedom
from this misery
To leave behind the wasted space
that long ago
was me
My heartaches have all faded and
my laughter is all lost
Oh, let me flee this wretched place,
I care not of the cost
I beg a chance to start anew
and leave the hollow shell
I need not punished for my sins
for life itself is h***
(Dunno if that word is allowed hehe)

Re: Monstrous Poems
In an ocean of people,
all speaking,
all list'ning,
I feel like my voice goes
Unheard
In an ocean of people,
all doing, all being,
I feel like I'm not there
At all
And I'm lonely
Oh lonely
So lonely
all speaking,
all list'ning,
I feel like my voice goes
Unheard
In an ocean of people,
all doing, all being,
I feel like I'm not there
At all
And I'm lonely
Oh lonely
So lonely
