Continue the story (Serious to Joke version)

So how this works is, similar to the other threads like this, you have to continue this story. The twist is that this story must start as a serious story, but will slowly become funny and nonsensical.

Here goes:

- During the summer break, many people go out for a vacation. Most people bring their families or friends, and some travel to these places alone.
It was the first time in three years that I was going to have a vacation. During the past four years, I had been busy working a nine-to-five job and achieving my ambitions. After such a long period of time, I decided to go on vacation this summer break.

“Where shiuld I go?” I mused as I flipped the pages of the travel magazine and did some research online.

After a bit of researching, I decided on going to the tropical getaway island. The reviews of the place were mostly positive, though there were some negative reviews claiming that the positive reviews were fake. I didn't mind this. After all, the getaway island was the cheapest choice. It was cheaper that skiing!

I packed my suitcases and got a ticket online. The flight was on the 17th August, I was wondering if it was as good as the reviews.

As the days went by till that 17th of August, some people told me how great the place was. But a few of my closest friends told me that it was a total nightmare. Every night I laid down I kept wondering if I shall cancel the trip. But on the eve before the trip I finally decided that I will go on the trip. After all, its the cheapest and I badly needed it.
