Are the genders supposed to look different or is the other colored one on the page some kind of special coloring? My male and female look the same.

There is no dysmorphism (they have the same sprite for both males and females). They have rotating sprites. It says so according to their description:

Death screamers have gained their name for their unusual wing markings. During the day they are no more remarkable than any other moth. At night, however, a glowing shape forms on their large wings which eerily looks reminiscent of a screaming skull.
