Transparent Backgrounds

Post by Ashamaly »

Ok... I know that I figured them out before but now, for the life of me, I can't get a transparent background to save my life. They're all going gray now and It's starting to bug me.

I use Paint SAI to make the transparent background because it has the layers and stuff, and generally I'll use paint for the basic drawing and stuff. Anyone have any idea how to do it? As this is my result of making the base layer 'transparent'. It kinda works... but mostly it doesn't. >.<

I don't know how you do it with a program, but when I am uploading the pic to the internet the place I use (TinyPic) has a transparency tool.
Shoot for the moon. Even if you miss, you'll land among the stars.

The website Iaza has an awesomely handy transparency option too. You just have to make the background - or whatever you want transparent - a different color from anything in the picture - that you don't want transparent. I've been using it for ages. :look:

It's ok... but the edge is really jagged and makes it look really poor, at least in my opinion. I also don't like how it took away a few places from inside of the picture... but that's just my opinion.

*Only uses GIMP to outline*

*WHINE* Is Iaza not working for anyone else..? It's killing me that I can't use it. It's the site I use to transparentize as well. >: And it's all 'PAGE LOAD ERROR'. That and Bulbapedia. o.o'

Photoshop has excellent ways of doing this. Though i guess it is rather expensive D:
