Why you joined: I absolutely loved this movie! Big wolves=Something I will automatically love.
What is your fav character: San, with Moro and her sons as close seconds.
Other: I first watched this movie when it was on Cartoonetwork, Toonami for an anime movie marathon. That's also when I first saw Spirited Away and My Neighbor Totoro. I didn't really like Princess Mononoke...seeing how I wasn't exactly into how violent it got at the end, but now I love it!

Other:In case you can't tell, if I was there I would have been on the animal spirit's side.

MurderVictim, they're both boar gods, if you paid attention(no offense) it tells you that. that's why there's a flashback war showing the boars fighting, and why the idiot monk/hunter wanted to know why those particular boars were there when the second group showed up.

Why you joined: Princess Mononoke is one of my favorite movies, anime or otherwise
What is your fav character: Has to be the Kodama. Love those little guys Ktiktiktiktik!
Other: It really irks me, how in the US, the movie was hailed as a movie about environmentalism. It's NOT. It's about balance. Yes, the forest, it's animals and spirits have their place, and need to be respected and looked after, but so, too, do humans and technology. Human's don't need to be raping the landscape to further their own ends, but the animals should not come before human needs either.
Ashitaka's curse flares and gives him great power, not when he's simply mad, or fighting against humans, but when he is filled with a righteous fury about any situation.

Ok, I'll stop ranting now.

Now I want to dig it out of my storage shed (where 95% of everything I own currently is) and watch it again.

I believe Ashitaka fires more arrows into the first demon boar, and when it falls, he goes to apologize to it, and learns about the metal ball (a musket ball) that has poisoned it and turned it into the demon. Then, because of his curse, he has to leave his village. He cuts his hair, because in that culture, it means he is dead to them. In the American Translation, it actually has to be said.

I just love the attention to detail Miazaki puts into the artwork of that movie. Seeing it on the bigscreen is... just incredible. Especially at the end when the Nightwalker is roaming. Absolutely beautiful.
