Feather Keep - A Keep Story

OK, I suck at the beggining of storys and I never know how I should write the rest...so here it go's!!! Please tell me if you think theres too much all at once, I do that alot so just be truthful and tell me what you think about it!!! Even if you say it's terrible and I should stop writing (I would most likely laugh my head off for days then it would sink in and I would nit write for months...but ya...)

Chapter 1
Just the right egg

June gazed up into the sky, she could see a roc just above the trees but a sharp peck on her neck reminded her of what she was here for – to try and find a humming bird egg. They are very hard to catch and Junes attention spend was not very long. June is an Air Magi so she has a very hard time sitting in front of a river while there are birds over head. She got another sharp peck on the back of her neck, Birdy was trying to tell her something but the little birds thought where moving so quickly she had no idea what he was thinking of! Then she saw what he was so exited about – there was a humming bird egg floating down the stream about 5 feet away! This is it!!! A humming bird egg of my very own! But suddenly the humming bird egg was being pulled to the other side of the stream, a very confused June looked over and there on the other bank was someone standing, not just anyone – Jake! And he was not going to her humming bird egg she desided, so she used her wind to change the current and lift the egg out of the water just a little bit, it took a lot of energy but boys can't always win she told herself. She finally got the egg from her side and watched in amazment as Jake took his shirt of and dove into the water, he's coming my way!

A snort from behind her startled her and she almost fell in the river. “Oh, It's only you Kaz Kaz!” she said as she tried to regain her balance, Kaz Kaz took a few steps forward and put out his neck for her to stabilize herself on, “thanks Kazzy!” Kazzy snorted back as if to say “no big deal” “Hi June!” Jake said as he climbed on to shoure from his swim in the water “How are you to-day?” June blushed, she always did around Jake “OH, I'm fine! Just trying to get a few eggs, you know that humming bird egg that you tried to get is mine.” Jake laughed “OH really?” “Yes, I almost had it and then you tried to steel it from me!” June laughed “Where are you going after this?” she asked “Just back to the keep, you?” “Same, I just need to get one or two more eggs and I'll be OK!” she said smiling, her mother let her have 4 eggs at a time – no more then 4! - so she tried to make the best of it...her father had died when she was 5 and she didn't remember him much, but her mother said he had died when there was a herd of Kirin coming through a narrow faly in the mountains and her father had no where to go and had been trampled. So instead of the more normal Kirin mount June rode a Shaa, they where very lovely animals too! Just harder to ride. “What about this egg?” Jake asked as he scooped up a hippocampus egg from the stream “I guess it will do just fine!” June said, happy that he had remembered the animals she liked the most. “I should be going now.” June said as she jumped back on Kazzy, “I'll see you back at the keep sometime?” Jake nodded and watched her as she taped Kaz Kaz with her ankles and clucked him on.
